The next Dragon Ball game coming in 2027 will be titled Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, according to a recent update on Bandai Namco Entertainment’s YouTube channel. It’s been confirmed that Dragon Ball is entering an exciting chapter in 2026 with new anime adaptations, but it seems the franchise has big plans in store for its video game series as well. With the reveal of Project Age 1000, many fans were suspecting that the Xenoverse saga could make a comeback. Now, their theories might have been proved right.

Earlier in January 2026, during the brand’s Genkidamatsuri event, Dragon Ball announced Project Age 1000, an upcoming video game that has been 6 to 7 years in the making. The short trailer revealed an all-new white-haired protagonist in Capsule Corp clothes, who can turn Super Saiyan. According to Bandai Namco, the character was created by Akira Toriyama himself. The teaser also featured nods to Goku and Vegeta, suggesting that they’ll be present in the game. Project Age 1000 is scheduled for release in 2027, but the developers haven’t revealed any new information since. However, Bandai Namco Entertainment may have finally confirmed Project Age 1000‘s official title, albeit unintentionally.

Dragon Ball: Project Age 1000 Revealed to Be Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3

As spotted by Twitter user Wario64, the official Bandai Namco Entertainment Southeast Asia YouTube channel had recently created a playlist titled “DRAGON BALL Xenoverse 3,” to which it added the Project Age 1000 teaser trailer. The playlist has since been deleted, but the update did not go unnoticed by fans. This would validate many players’ predictions that Project Age 1000 was always intended as the next Dragon Ball Xenoverse entry. It is worth noting that the Xenoverse saga is one of the most popular Dragon Ball fighting game series, and while Xenoverse 2 has received new DLC periodically, many fans have been hoping for a new installment entirely.

Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 playlist was likely not meant to be public yet. However, the developer did confirm during Genkidamatsuri that more details about Project Age 1000 would come on April 19 and 20 at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026. Players will have to tune in to the event to see if Bandai Namco officially unveils Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. On the other hand, since Akira Toriyama’s input is present in Project Age 1000, some fans believe that the game could revive Toriyama’s vision for Dragon Ball Online, a storyline set in the year 1000 that reveals the fates of Goku, Vegeta, and other characters.

Since the first trailer for Project Age 1000, keen-eyed fans have noticed that Dragon Ball‘s nameless upcoming Super Saiyan shares some similarities with Broly and Cheelai, such as the latter’s hair color. For this reason, some players suspect that the potential protagonist of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is Broly’s grandchild, which could explain his Super Saiyan transformation. Fans may also remember that Broly and Cheelai’s close relationship was featured in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, where they share some endearing moments, so there’s a chance that Bandai Namco could use this storyline as a foundation for the next entry.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has received new content as recently as October 2025, maintaining a fairly active playerbase. Then again, the game is nearing its 10th anniversary. If the rumors about Project Age 1000 turn out to be true, the best time for Bandai Namco to reveal Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 could be now. It will be interesting to see how Xenoverse 3 approaches the events of its predecessor and whether it is connected to Future Trunks’ adventure in Age 1000 from DBO or not.
