Ubisoft has always been a leaky ship, but the leaks ahead of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s confirmation seemingly doubled down on that, with new information now surfacing regarding Far Cry 7. Of course, as with all rumors and leaks, fans should take this with a grain of salt until Ubisoft officially comments on Far Cry 7. It’s been nearly five years since FC6, however, so it wouldn’t be surprising to learn it’s in the works.

The source of this information is Rogue whose track record isn’t spotless, but a handful of minor things grant them more credence than some, including a corroboration by AC Invictus leaker xJonathan (whose record isn’t spotless either but does have a long history of leaking Assassin’s Creed info). Beyond this, Rogue has also recently leaked new details on Assassin’s Creed Hexe, including the protagonist’s real name of Anika, the Wurzburg setting, and Ezio’s return—among other things.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Keeps ‘Controversial’ Feature from the Original

Ubisoft confirms it will keep a somewhat controversial feature from the original Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag in the upcoming remake, Resynced.

Far Cry 7 Leaks

According to Rogue, Far Cry 7‘s previously leaked story—rescuing family with some kind of time-based mechanic—is real, and the game is set in Alaska. Rogue also posted an audio clip of a supposed Far Cry 7 trailer (that was also reportedly DMCA’d) that had generic action music playing, but it was noticeably underscored by a ticking clock. Prior to this, the main villain of Far Cry 7 was rumored to be Cillian Murphy, but some claimed to debunk it. Rogue is among those denying this rumor, as well.

On the protagonist front, though, Rogue posted an image claiming to reveal “one” of the Far Cry 7 protagonists. It is from early dev and could have since been changed, but otherwise it kind of looks like the bearded Trevor from GTA 5. It’s unremarkable beyond that, but it does suggest that the gender options introduced in Far Cry 6 are coming back since it is “one” of them. Finally, there were originally two Far Cry 7 projects in the works: the next mainline, single-player game and a multiplayer title. According to Rogue, these two projects have since become one.

To be clear, what that means is that it will be sold and shipped together (if perhaps downloadable separately a la Call of Duty, as pure speculation). Instead of chasing a free-to-play multiplayer game, this multiplayer option is an attachment to the main game, as was more common years ago. The multiplayer portion, which Rogue describes as an Extraction game, has its own map independent of the original single-player map and is called/set in “Paradise Park.”

Ultimately, it remains to be seen if Rogue’s claims prove to be true, but Rogue said they would not be surprised if Ubisoft announced Far Cry 7 this year. Summer Game Fest or a Ubisoft Connect this summer feels more likely, at least right now, but they also cautioned it would not release this year. All I’m saying is, if Assassin’s Creed Hexe releases in 2027 and Far Cry 7 releases in 2027 and if Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is as successful as Ubisoft and fans hope and they all deliver, the next calendar year or two could be good ones for Ubisoft.
