Publisher Gameloft and developer Old Skull Games have just announced Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next!, a crossover sports game that brings together 15 characters from a range of Nickelodeon-owned franchises. Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is heading to PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S on May 28, 2026, and will retail for $29.99.

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is just the latest in an ever-growing line of Nickelodeon-themed crossover games that’s appeared in recent years. This recent uptick began with Nickelodeon Kart Racers in 2018, a series that’s received three entries so far. These crossover racing games were joined by Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, a duology of crossover fighting games that launched in 2021 and 2023 respectively. Between these two series came Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, an Apple Arcade exclusive that released in January 2022 and was removed from the subscription service just a year later.

Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! Launches on May 28, 2026

Now, three years after its removal from Apple Arcade, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis is getting a new life on new platforms. A port of the crossover sports game titled Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is officially launching on May 28. Much like the Apple Arcade version just prior to its removal, this new version of Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis will feature 15 playable characters taken from beloved franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Garfield, Danny Phantom, and more. Each of these characters comes with a unique ultimate ability themed around their respective franchise.

These 15 playable characters will be accompanied by over 500 unlockable outfits and accessories, with many also themed around a variety of Nickelodeon worlds. There are three core game modes in Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next!, those being a solo story mode, a player-vs-AI Tournament mode, and a 1v1 exhibition match mode that can be played either against AI or against another real-world player in local split-screen.

Just like its original Apple Arcade version, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is being developed by Old Skull Games, a studio primarily known for its work in the mobile market. According to Old Skull’s official website, the developer has worked on over 10 games, including titles like Cryptical Path, Master Chef: Let’s Cook!, Raid Heroes, Tiny Worlds: Dragon Idle Game, and the Amber’s Airline series. Old Skull has also worked on two other officially-licensed Nickelodeon games, those being SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit and its sequel, two side-scrolling platformers that were exclusively available on Apple Arcade.
