A new Fashionwave event in Heartopia has been leaked for March 21, bringing players some fresh spring outfits, building parts, recipes, and more. Heartopia‘s cozy slow-life appeal has caught on quickly with western audiences, and while not all players are satisfied with the leaked goodies coming their way, the response so far has been generally positive.

First released in China in the summer of 2024, Heartopia is still new to the life-sim scene for the rest of the world, having only launched globally on mobile platforms on January 7 and coming to Steam a short time thereafter. Despite the recency of its worldwide release, it’s caught on quickly, with its leisurely pace and gacha-heavy system of acquiring new items drawing in lots of early fans, and live player counts reaching as high as 65,000 on PC alone, according to SteamStats.

Heartopia’s Spring Fashionwave Event Has Been Leaked

Early Heartopia players may soon have a chance to grab a bunch more decorations for sprucing up their living spaces on Whale Island, as a new leak featuring Chinese text is circulating, stating that a fresh Fashionwave event is coming on March 21. Shared on Reddit by user alexis1197, this event will bring with it two different outfits, both in a black and white theme, with a sailor-inspired jumpsuit for female avatars and a jacket, pants, and floppy cap for male avatars. The upcoming event will also reportedly provide a variety of items that will allow more freedom in customizing Heartopia homes, including signs, fences, arches, awnings, windows, cobblestone footpaths, and flowing bushes and trees. Many of these items seem to be built around the theme of movies, as previewed images show a film reel, studio spotlight, clapperboard, lighted movie poster, and popcorn stand among the items that will be up for grabs.

Getting more customization for avatars and homes isn’t the only thing players can look forward to, if the leak is legitimate. At least 20 new Heartopia cooking recipes appear to be on the way, including popcorn and other movie theater snacks, in addition to some more traditional dishes. Along with more food options, the leak also reveals some new fish and bugs to catch, also reflecting the Hollywood theme, with winged insects holding clapperboards and octopuses decked out in berets and sunglasses. The cute designs of these creatures have been getting particularly high praise from the fan community.

Fashionwave events bring players a special Fashionwave Store that has a rotating selection of items each day, all of which can be purchased with event-specific Fashionwave Tokens. Items in this shop change daily, so while there is an element of randomness to finding the pieces that players want most, it’s still a more reliable system than pulling solely from the game’s regular gacha system for picking up specific pieces. Earning Fashionwave Tokens in Heartopia can be pulled off in a number of different ways, as players can acquire them from completing weekly challenges, cooking recipes, and selling items to the NPC running the shop. Fans still not finding what they’re looking for can refresh the shop manually, but doing so consumes a large amount of gold.

The spring Fashionwave event will reportedly be the same for players on the Chinese servers as it will be for the rest of the world, keeping things consistent for old and new players alike. However, this information is not coming from the game’s publisher and developer, XD Inc., so it has yet to be confirmed. If true, some fans outside China have found this report to be troubling, as it seems like keeping the servers linked in time would make it impossible for players to buy Fashionwave items from events that took place prior to Heartopia‘s worldwide release.
