Animal Crossing: New Horizons has received a new update in honor of the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda series. The addition is the latest in Nintendo crossovers that have come to Animal Crossing: New Horizons since its launch back in 2020.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a wildly successful game at release, and while its major updates have come to an end, many fans are still exploring everything the game has to offer. The addition of terraforming and increased freedom in choosing how to decorate one’s Animal Crossing town and home have kept players coming back, even as new content has dwindled.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Gets Zelda Crossover
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has now added some new additions based upon The Legend of Zelda. Players can now grab a new Triforce T-shirt and a Korok Umbrella, either by visiting the official Nintendo Island and bringing back the designs, or by using codes for custom items at the Able Sisters shop. Players can use the Dream Address DA-6382-1459-4417 and Creator ID MA-6818-1746-6029. For the Able Sisters method, users can utilize the code MO-BJY7-XKPP-C724 for the shirt, and MO-9FRX-HMW1-WXS6 for the umbrella.
Nintendo has also reminded fans that they can get extra Zelda-themed goodies by scanning Zelda amiibo into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These include items like a Triforce decoration, the Master Sword in its stone, clothing, heart containers, rupees, and more. Tulin and Mineru can also visit players’ islands if select Zelda amiibo are scanned. Presumably, the upcoming Ocarina of Time amiibo will also be compatible with the game, but those won’t release until sometime in 2027, so it remains to be seen what they’ll do when scanned into Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Balance the critic averages
Crossover collaborations like these are fairly common in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Another recent example landed alongside Splatoon Raiders‘ release earlier in 2026, which saw a similar pair of custom designs released: namely a Smallfry Fan and a tie-die tank top with a squid on it. Collaborations like these help to keep players coming back to New Horizons, and are a nice way of promoting new Nintendo games. For gamers who have yet to upgrade to a Switch 2, it also provides a way to celebrate new games like Splatoon Raiders and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.
While all eyes are on the release of Ocarina of Time, which arrives in early November, fans of Animal Crossing are still hoping for more from their own series. The game got a significant update with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 version, which added new content and improved visuals alongside the 3.0 update. However, there’s been no news of a new game being in development yet despite the game now being six years old. For the moment, all fans can do is wait, but content infusions like this one help to keep things interesting even after all this time.
