WB Games has officially showcased LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight‘s Mayhem Collection. The DLC is scheduled for release in September 2026, arriving alongside a new version of the new LEGO Batman game for a previously unsupported platform.
At the August 2025 edition of Gamescom, Warner Bros. announced the LEGO Batman game for all the current-gen consoles. However, the latest title from the award-winning studio Traveller’s Tales ended up skipping the Switch 2 at launch, having initially only released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 22, 2026. A few days earlier, WB Games officially announced the Mayhem Collection, which only took a few more weeks to lock down a release date: September 18. The Legacy of The Dark Knight Switch 2 version launches on the same date, the publisher confirmed as part of the same announcement.

The Caped Crusader and Joker Co-Star in the Latest LEGO Batman DLC
Ahead of that release, WB Games shared a new Mayhem Collection trailer on August 26. The promotional footage offers the most substantial look yet at the upcoming Legacy of The Dark Knight DLC. The Mayhem Collection continues the game’s broader approach of drawing from numerous eras of Batman history, leaning particularly heavily on imagery and ideas associated with Arkham. The DLC story mission sees Joker and Harley Quinn orchestrating a breakout from Arkham Asylum before taking their mayhem onto the streets of Gotham. Both characters have their own abilities and gadgets and should thus offer a different style of gameplay.
LEGO Batman: Mayhem Collection Mayhem Mode
Story content aside, the larger addition in the new DLC is the titular Mayhem Mode, which sends Joker and Harley on time-limited runs through Gotham with Batman and Robin in pursuit. Players need to make it back to Amusement Mile before time expires, earning LEGO studs by smashing Amanda landmarks, stores, and vehicles, as well as completing challenges along the way. A.R.G.U.S. agents and Waller’s Task Force X also stand in their way, with Deathstroke, Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, King Shark, and Polka-Dot Man among the officially named opponents. Some of that roster is particularly notable because it provides closure; the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight DLC leaked shortly after the base game’s spring 2026 release launch, when datamined files pointed to several Task Force X characters before their involvement had been formally revealed.
The Mayhem Collection also includes the Sinister Pack, adding seven villain-themed outfits for the original playable cast, the Arkham Trilogy Jokermobile, and five new decorations for the game’s customizable Batcave. Joker and Harley will also receive unlockable looks inspired by earlier Batman media, including Batman: The Animated Series and The Dark Knight Returns.
The September 18 rollout will not be limited to paid DLC, either, as WB Games is also adding a new Absolute difficulty setting through a free update for all players. Positioned above the existing Caped Crusader and Dark Knight options, Absolute is intended to demand greater skill, awareness, and precision in combat, giving returning players another challenge regardless of edition.
