Doki Doki Literature Club is getting a new official release in the form of a new figure of club president Monika. The new Doki Doki Literature Club figure will give fans one more way to celebrate the popular character.
Doki Doki Literature Club is an extremely popular virtual novel that wildly subverts expectations. Those who go into the experience assuming they will be treated to a light-hearted adventure revolving around romancing several girls are instead put through some pretty traumatic and alarming moments that have set the game apart from others in the genre. Monika is one of the game’s most popular characters, and accordingly, she’s the first to receive a new figure in this line.
Doki Doki Literature Club Returns with New Monika Figure
Doki Doki Literature Club revealed a brand-new Monika figure on the character’s birthday, and fans can now pre-order the new Nendoroid Doll. The new figure recreates Monika in a cute, chibi style, and images of the figure show it demonstrating some of her iconic poses from the game. While an exact release date for the figure hasn’t been announced yet, it’s expected to ship between July and September 2027, with pre-orders closing on November 3, 2026. The figure costs $58.99, and includes a stand and interchangeable hand parts.
While Monika previously received a Nendoroid, Nendoroid Dolls are different in a significant number of ways. Standard Nendoroids are made entirely out of PVC and ABS plastic, and offer limited articulation and swappable pieces for posing. Nendoroid Dolls, on the other hand, offer much more articulation, allowing for a wider variety of poses that’s closer to Good Smile’s Figma line. Furthermore, Nendoroid Doll outfits are made out of fabric, giving the figures more definition and allowing their clothes to be interchanged with other entries in the line. Her original Nendoroid faceplates should also be interchangeable, so those who already own the original Monika Nendoroid will be able to freely swap them.
Though the game is beginning the approach to its tenth anniversary, Doki Doki Literature Club remains a popular cult classic. The game expanded its reach with the launch of Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, which brought the game to consoles for the first time and added extra content not available in the original version. However, the original game remains available on Steam for free, so anyone who hasn’t experienced the title can easily check it out on PC. Additionally, the game launched for mobile devices in 2025, although it experienced some controversy, as it was removed from the Google Play Store due to its content. It’s since been restored for Android users by way of the Epic Games Store.
Though Doki Doki Literature Club has enjoyed lasting popularity over the last nine years, fans are still waiting for more. DDLC‘s developer, Team Salvato, is working on at least three games, including Magicore Anomala, a game for the 1985 Amiga home console. The other two projects remain unnamed, and all three lack a release date. With a number of elements teased in Doki Doki Literature Club and its newer Plus version providing some hints about the world the game is set in, players have continued to hope to learn more. For now, products like these are the next-best thing to an expansion of the world the game is set in.
