New Metal Gear Solid releases are a rare occasion, and fans are always on the lookout for more from the franchise. Great news: a brand-new Metal Gear Solid release is officially on the way in November, giving fans something interesting to look forward to.
The Metal Gear franchise has been a Konami staple since its first release in 1987. Over the years, the Hideo Kojima-created franchise has helped pioneer the stealth game genre, but it’s been a long time since a new mainline title was released. That was all the way back in 2015, with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. That’s not to say fans have had nothing to enjoy – last year, a full Metal Gear Solid 3 remake was released, but it doesn’t quite make up for the lack of brand-new games.
Konami has some great news for Metal Gear Solid collectors. A brand-new 1/6 scale Raiden statue based on his appearance in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is now available for pre-order on Sideshow Collectibles, coming via Japanese company Gecco. The statue is a fairly pricey $450, which will likely put it out of budget for some fans. Still, for the many who think he’s among the best Metal Gear characters, this could still be well worth the price. It’s expected to launch sometime between now and November 2026, although Sideshow says that this is an estimate, and it could arrive as late as February 2026.

Looking at the details on the Metal Gear Solid 4 Raiden statue, it’s easy to see why the price is as steep as $450. It seems to capture all the details and textures on Raiden’s exoskeleton, with a display base intricately designed to feature the scattered remains of the Gekko. It even has an additional interchangeable head part with the visor lowered for extra customization. Sideshow Collectibles says the statue stands at 12.59 inches, which, at 1/6 scale, makes it a considerably bulky collectible.
Orders via Sideshow are limited to six per person.

Gecco is a Japanese company that produces, among other things, high-end gaming statues. It has items across numerous IPs, including an Elden Ring Raging Wolf 1/6 scale statue planned for release later this year. Other IPs in its portfolio include the likes of Dead by Daylight, Bloodborne, and Silent Hill, among others.
Following the recent release of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the MGS franchise. Given that any sequel to the last game would almost certainly be created without the involvement of Hideo Kojima, some would question whether it’s even a worthy endeavor at all. Despite it all, Metal Gear Solid remains one of the most valuable IPs in all of gaming, and it’s difficult to imagine there won’t eventually be a brand-new mainline game on the way.
