The Pokemon Trading Card Game has officially confirmed a special release for Valentine’s Day 2027, debuting themed packs with exclusive cards for the holiday. The massively popular Pokemon TCG has often rolled out promotional products to celebrate different holidays.
Pokemon fans have been given plenty of reasons to be excited about the beloved card game in 2026. Ascended Heroes, the first expansion of 2026, was an instant hit with fans, breaking the record for the largest Pokemon TCG set ever released and welcoming the debut of multiple highly sought-after cards. 2026 also marked the 30th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise, bringing a multitude of special releases to honor the anniversary, including the recently released 30th Celebration set with reprints of some of the Pokemon TCG‘s most iconic cards. Now, The Pokemon Company is already giving fans a sneak peek at one special product releasing in early 2027.

Valentine’s Day 2027 is set to welcome the debut of a brand-new type of Pokemon TCG product to celebrate the holiday. The Pokemon TCG Valentine’s Box will include 20 booster packs, containing three cards from a special set, and five sheets of stickers. The Pokemon Company has not revealed any official images of the Valentine’s product or the cards within, though the set will likely feature Pokemon cards themed around love with special stamps. The Pokemon TCG Valentine’s Box is scheduled to launch just a couple of weeks ahead of the holiday on January 27.

Pokemon‘s new Valentine’s Day product will likely bear plenty of similarities to a previous holiday product from the game. Pokemon officially debuted its first Trick or Trade packs in 2022, featuring similar three-card packs to the upcoming Valentine’s product. Packs of the Trick or Trade set were intended to be given out as Halloween gifts instead of candy, with the set containing a plethora of spooky Pokemon cards emblazoned with a pumpkin Pikachu stamp. Pokemon has released several Christmas-themed products as well, including its Holiday Calendar products, which contain daily gifts of Pokemon TCG packs and special snowflake-stamped promo cards.
The Pokemon TCG‘s Valentine’s Box will be one of the first new products for the card game to release in 2027. The Pokemon Company has not confirmed the trading card game’s first major set of 2027, but it will likely be the English version of Japan’s upcoming Aura Seeker expansion. Pokemon has also confirmed that a brand-new type of card will be coming to the game in the near future, teasing ex Star Pokemon cards during the 2026 World Championships and is expected to debut the card type in 2027.
While Pokemon has confirmed its first official product for 2027, 2026 still has another major release in store for the TCG. Delta Reign is scheduled to launch on November 6 as the final full Pokemon TCG set of the year, featuring Mega Rayquaza as the cover Pokemon for the expansion. The Pokemon Company has already revealed an assortment of promo cards from Delta Reign, previewing the four special stamped cards players can find in the expansion’s Build and Battle boxes. Delta Reign should provide a strong conclusion to a massive year for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, with plenty more exciting cards on the horizon.
