Humblets is an upcoming cozy open-world game confirmed for release on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Developed by a real-life couple at Berry Bite studio, Humblets is officially described as “a bridge between Animal Crossing‘s cozy charm and Minecraft‘s open-world exploration.” The game is expected to launch sometime in October 2027, but players can wishlist it on Steam to stay up to date with future announcements.
Animal Crossing hasn’t been the only source of inspiration for Humblets. The developers say, “As huge fantasy fans, we drew inspiration from staples like The Lord of the Rings and Dungeons & Dragons.” The art direction also appears to be influenced by Studio Ghibli’s animated films, giving Humblets‘ world an extra cozy atmosphere.

Developer Berry Bite wants to create a nonviolent cozy game with relaxed progression. Players can expect familiar genre mechanics, including farming, foraging, fishing, crafting, cooking, and exploration. However, Humblets takes place in a procedurally generated world with handcrafted landmarks, making each playthrough distinct. Additionally, combat uses a turn-based system based on trading cards, adding a unique twist to encounters.
Humblets features trading cards that can be used to build different decks for battles. Players can collect cards in several ways, from finding them on the world map to trading duplicates with friends and buying booster packs from NPCs. Similar to popular trading card games like Pokemon TCG Pocket, Humblets encourages players to chase cards they do not own to complete their collections, adding another layer of progression.
Players can set up their tents wherever they like and use the area as a temporary base while customizing and personalizing the interior.
Like most cozy life sim games, Humblets lets players build their dream home. However, it adds a creative twist by turning their homes into portable tents. Players can set up their tents wherever they like and use the area as a temporary base while customizing and personalizing the interior. Developer Berry Bite says, “Make [the tent] your own by decorating it with furniture, while you grow potted plants, and craft other cozy touches from blueprints you discover along the way.” In co-op mode, players can even place their tents next to each other to create a shared space or show off their builds.
Humblets started as a Kickstarter project that raised more than €160,000, despite an initial goal of €40,000. This means the team has reached all its stretch goals, allowing it to add plenty of content before release. For example, the final game will include new pets, biomes, expanded emotes, a camera and photo mode, musical instruments, and mounts.
Animal taming and mount acquisition will be added to Humblets sometime after launch.
