Jurassic Park’s undeniable success as a movie franchise has resulted in a good deal of dinosaur-centric games. There was the classic Dino Crisis franchise that fans are still desperate to see revived, not to mention numerous licensed Jurassic Park and World video games. Indie developers have also thrown their hats into the mix, with unique titles such as a Peak-like game set in a dinosaur park on the way. Developer Flatrock Games’ own dino title, Clawed, is one that’s also worth watching, as the Steam game keeps the horror elements that regularly pop up in the Jurassic Park franchise intact.
However, Steam’s Clawed isn’t just a straightforward horror game set in a dinosaur-filled park with a bunch of sneaking and hiding, as it also combines elements from both the Fallout and Division franchises to create an extremely intriguing final product. Obviously, there isn’t much connective tissue between Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG series and the Tom Clancy military vibe, but the elements that are pulled from these two IPs are key to making Clawed work. In Clawed, players aren’t a helpless survivor, but a secret agent who will be shooting back at the dinosaurs and regularly looting containers to survive.
Barring a delay, this game’s release is also imminent, with the Clawed Steam page listing an August 13, 2026 launch date.

The Division’s Influence on Clawed: Secret Agents, Co-Op Gameplay, and Modern Gear
The very premise of Clawed, which tosses players into an abandoned dinosaur park on a “secret mission,” is inherently reminiscent of The Division. What this mission is remains under wraps, but players are both dressed and geared up like an agent from Ubisoft’s popular live-service franchise. Modern guns will be wielded against the creatures still roaming the park as players work toward whatever their actual goal turns out to be. However, Clawed will be far scarier than The Division, as developer Flatrock Games will build tension and force encounters that lean into the survival horror genre. For instance, players may see a Megalodon swimming in a huge water exhibit before realizing they’ll have to swim through that enclosure to activate power to a gate, forcing them to fight their fears.

Fortunately, players won’t have to battle monstrosities that dwarf them in size alone. Co-op gameplay will be offered in Clawed, allowing players to explore the Prehistoria park alongside some friends of their choosing. Both dinosaur fights and puzzle solving are available in co-op, suggesting that the entire game can be played with a friend. However, the Classic mode isn’t the only way to play through Clawed, as an experience very familiar to something offered in the Fallout franchise will be available, too.
Fallout’s Influence on Clawed: Exploration, Multiple Camera Perspectives, and Survival Mode
While not everybody experienced Fallout 4’s Survival mode or New Vegas’ Hardcore mode, as the base game was enough for many casual gamers, there is a group of dedicated fans who adore the added challenges those modes provide. Thankfully, Clawed will be scratching that same itch with its separate Survival mode, which makes it so that players are looting far more than ammo. They’ll need to scavenge for food and drinks to stay alive, which means they’ll be opening each and every container just like they would do in a Fallout game. Additionally, Clawed’s Survival mode features dynamic weather and a full day/night cycle, making it harder to detect the creatures in the exhibits and adding to the tension. And, as if that wasn’t enough, random dinosaur encounters will also happen that force players to tread carefully at all times.
The icing on the cake is that, just like in Bethesda’s open-world RPGs, players will be able to choose their camera perspective in Clawed. Early screenshots and footage show both third-person and first-person encounters, and with fellow horror game Resident Evil Requiem showing how beneficial that level of freedom can be, this setting can be a proper ace up the game’s sleeve. With Clawed’s launch just days away, players will know soon whether it manages to stick the landing and successfully merge secret agents with dinosaurs.
