Nintendo’s latest Indie World showcase confirmed that My Little Puppy will arrive on the Nintendo Switch later this year. In the nine years since its initial release in 2017, the Nintendo Switch has become a landmark system for its ability to play games in both console and handheld form. Buoyed by a fantastic first-party lineup and a solid helping of third-party games, the Switch went on to sell 155 million units, making it Nintendo’s highest-selling platform and the second-highest-selling console of all time behind the PlayStation 2.
Beyond its big-name franchises, the Nintendo Switch has also become a haven for excellent independent titles. Having previously seen some success courting independent developers with the Wii U, the Switch quickly became a go-to destination for smaller developers to create fantastic indie titles. Nintendo also provided extra support for these developers by broadcasting Indie World showcases, a spinoff of its popular Nintendo Direct livestream series dedicated to smaller, independent titles.

My Little Puppy Arrives on Nintendo Switch This May
During Nintendo’s latest Indie World showcase, the publisher confirmed that My Little Puppy will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Previously released on Steam last November, My Little Puppy will arrive on the Switch on May 29 as a digital release, with a physical edition to follow in June. No price has been confirmed for the game yet, though it will likely be comparable to the $25 price tag of the game’s Steam version. In addition, My Little Puppy will also arrive on PlayStation 5 alongside its Switch release, opening the door for an even wider audience.
My Little Puppy is a Steam Award-nominated narrative adventure game about a Welsh Corgi named Bong-gu, a once-abandoned dog who was miraculously rescued from the shelter by a man. After living out his days in happiness with his new owner, Bong-gu peacefully crosses the rainbow bridge into dog heaven. While there, though, Bong-gu catches the scent of his former owner and escapes from dog heaven in an effort to find him. This adventure sees Bong-gu exploring deserts, mountains, and beaches across action, adventure, and racing styles in a heart-clenching journey of joy, hardship, and love.
My Little Puppy’s arrival on the Switch is a welcome addition to a loaded lineup of indie titles. In a gaming landscape that has recently become infatuated with games centered around cats, it’s refreshing to have a video game centered around a dog, especially one that promises to be as unique and genre-bending as this. Nintendo fans in particular may get a kick out of this one, as while it may not be comparable to the publisher’s once-popular Nintendogs series, it should still appeal to the same audience that fell in love with those furry friends on the Nintendo DS.
My Little Puppy will also be a heartfelt adventure, and should end up becoming one of the most emotional games available on the Switch. Between its adorable Corgi protagonist and a storyline centered on death, this game will certainly offer a charming experience while likely having many players prepare tissues for the journey that awaits. This artful adventure should slide in nicely on the Nintendo Switch, and it shouldn’t leave many eyes dry either.
