Nintendo has announced the next Nintendo Direct, and it’s coming up very soon. A Nintendo Direct dedicated to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be held on Monday, March 9 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET.

This event will include the final trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and, if it’s like previous Directs for Nintendo movies, we may see and hear from Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination’s Chris Meledandri.

The Nintendo Direct will not, however, feature any game information, Nintendo clarified to help set expectations.

This will be the fourth Nintendo Direct so far in 2026, following a previous Direct for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie in January, a Direct for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream also in January, and a Partner Showcase Direct in February.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives in theaters on April 1, featuring Chris Pratt returning to voice Mario and Brie Larson joining as Rosalina. The film has big shoes to fill, as 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie earned $1.36 billion globally and was the year’s No. 2 film, only behind Barbie.

Tickets for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie go on sale on Monday, March 9. The movie’s Yoshi-themed popcorn bucket has been revealed as well–check it out below.

Beyond The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo has a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie in the works with Sony Pictures set for release in 2027. After that, more movies may follow as part of Nintendo’s plan to have a steady cadence of new movie releases.
