Game trials have long been one of Nintendo Switch Online’s popular perks. However, this new offer is special because it arrives right as the FIFA World Cup kicks off in real life.
EA Sports FC 26 has also recently been added to Xbox Game Pass, alongside its World’s Game update, which introduces an international 48-team tournament mode seemingly inspired by the actual World Cup. With that update now available across platforms, including both Nintendo Switch consoles, fans of the sport who have a Nintendo Switch Online membership can effectively access the game for free during the limited trial period.

From June 18, Nintendo Switch Online owners can play EA Sports FC 26 for free. The promotion ends on June 24 at 11:59 PM PT. Both Nintendo Switch console owners are eligible to try out the game, but they must have an active subscription. Even better, players who download and play EA Sports FC 26 during the free-to-play promotion will receive 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points. EA Sports FC 26 is one of the best soccer games on the market, featuring a large roster of licensed players and teams that help create an immersive experience for players.

As a triple-A title, EA Sports FC 26 costs about $70 on the Nintendo eShop. However, alongside the current free-to-play event, there is also a limited-time discount that cuts the price by 80%. Until July 1 at 11:59 PM PT, players who enjoy the game can purchase it for $13.99, one of the lowest prices it has seen. Needless to say, players who do not buy the game will lose access once the free period expires.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game is slightly cheaper, with the current discounted price set at $11.99. However, the discount only applies to the digital standard edition of EA Sports FC 26. Other versions’ prices might be different on the eShop.
Although the promotion is time-limited, the access it provides is effectively unrestricted during the trial period, allowing Nintendo Switch owners to explore all game modes in EA Sports FC 26. This includes local co-op and competitive matches, as well as a range of online tournament modes.
