Derek’s love of games came at an early age when his parents first brought home the Nintendo Entertainment System. From then on, countless nights were spent hunting ducks, stomping turtles, exploring far off planets, and combing through dungeons with a trusty sword and shield. Originally growing up exclusively with Nintendo products, Derek’s perspective grew to include other platforms ranging from Sony, to Microsoft, the PC, and more. As his views and opinions grew, so did the desire to connect with other players and video game fans. In 2011, his writing adventure began on his personal blog, eventually joining up with the GameRant crew in 2015. He currently covers everything from features and guides, to the latest breaking video game news.
The latest trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake gives fans an overview of the game, showcasing more in-game footage, as well as revealing a brand-new feature.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Reveals the Hall of Fallen Heroes
In a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake, Nintendo gives fans an overview of the game as a whole, including the support for the Zelda Notes app as well as upcoming Ocarina of Time amiibo figures. The nearly 5-minute trailer also gives fans another look at gameplay ranging from Young Link in Kokiri Forest and The Great Deku Tree, to later segments with Adult Link battling inside the various Dungeons such as the infamous Water Temple. The trailer even reveals some of the many NPC characters, like the Phonogram Man inside the Kakariko Windmill.
Who’s That Character?

However, the trailer also reveals a brand-new feature for the remake, a location known as the Hall of Fallen Foes. Teasing the location as being “hidden somewhere deep within Hyrule,” players are able to walk around a large open room depicting statues of enemies that have been defeated. These range from smaller enemy types, to bosses that Link has faced and bested. Interacting with each statue will reveal new information about the enemy, including a description as well as where they can be found within the game.
In fact, that feature expands when looking at boss statues. Alongside the description and location, the statue gives players a hint at which weapons and items are helpful when battling them. As an added bit of replayability, players are also given an option to fight the boss again with the Rematch option, which also keeps track of the total time it takes to defeat them again. The trailer showcases Ocarina of Time‘s King Dodongo boss battle along the Death Mountain Trail. There isn’t a leaderboard or anything like that, but it stands to reason that more than a few players will likely be seeing who can take down certain bosses the fastest among their friend groups.
