Alysa Liu had a Winter Olympics performance for the ages as the first US women’s solo figure skater to win a gold medal in 24 years. To follow up that accomplishment, Liu said she would be very interested in getting her own Fortnite skin.

When asked about Fortnite by USA Today, Liu said, “I would love Fortnite to do a skin [based] on me. I would buy it!”

The outlet also inquired as to whether Liu would prefer another gold medal or the opportunity to be the best Fortnite player in the world. She shrugged off both options because the latter wouldn’t be challenging.

“That’s no fun if you’re the best Fortnite player,” said Liu. “You’d just win all of the games. That’s kind of boring.”

Although Fortnight largely sticks with licensed characters, it has occasionally included celebrities as skins in the game. Madison Beer has asked Epic for a Fortnite skin based on herself, while Kim Kardashian was added to Fornite in December 2025, and she won’t be the last celebrity guest.

Fortnite has had a resurgence in popularity that led to 3 million concurrent players. However, the game has also become more frequently unstable. That led Epic Games to delay the start of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 to March 19. Epic has also set up a support team strike force to target instability and bugs as they come up in the game.
