The Final Fantasy 7 remake project has been consistent with its inclusion of iconic moments from the original game interwoven with new characters and plot elements, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth continues this trend, for better or for worse. Although there has been some criticism about the way Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth handles its multiversal elements, the game does a great job with including many fan-favorite moments from the original release. However, given Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s ending, it’s safe to say that one notable boss from the original game won’t show up in part 3.
Although Final Fantasy 7‘s legendary villain, Sephiroth, doesn’t appear as a boss until the finale of the original title, the remake trilogy has him play an important role from early on. Not only does Sephiroth serve as the final boss of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but he appears again as the final boss of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. There are only so many times players can fight the villain throughout this remake trilogy before these clashes lose their impact, and the use of Sephiroth Reborn in the climactic showdown of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth likely means that Bizarro Sephiroth won’t be a boss in the final part of the trilogy.

Bizarro Sephiroth Likely Won’t Be in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
In the original 1997 release of Final Fantasy 7, the game’s finale within the Planet’s Core sees players face off against a gauntlet of bosses, including Jenova Synthesis, followed by Bizarro Sephiroth, and finally Safer Sephiroth. These battles have a unique twist to them that allows the fight against Bizarro Sephiroth to change depending on certain conditions having been met during the previous fight against Jenova Synthesis. Players could potentially face Bizarro Sephiroth with up to three different parties depending on their level, how long it took them to beat Jenova Synthesis, and whether they recruited Yuffie and Vincent.
What makes this fight unlikely to appear in part 3 of the remake trilogy is due to the fact that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth essentially takes this fight and makes it the final boss for this entry. Rather than Bizarro Sephiroth, the boss is renamed to Sephiroth Reborn, but it maintains a nearly identical appearance to Bizarro Sephiroth and adopts the multiple party system from the original game’s fight. The difference in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is that the Sephiroth Reborn fight seems to take place across the multiverse, including several different phases where teams like Zack and Cloud, the main party minus Cloud, and finally, Cloud and Aerith all get their chance to fight the boss.
How Part 3’s Final Sephiroth Battle Could Play Out Instead
Assuming Bizarro Sephiroth is cut from the final boss rush of part 3’s finale, the game is going to need some way to make this climactic battle stand out from the rest of the remake trilogy’s Sephiroth fights. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth already followed similar beats to the original game’s finale, with the battle against Jenova Lifeclinger leading right into the battle against Sephiroth Reborn mirroring the original’s battle against Jenova Synthesis leading right into the battle against Bizarro Sephiroth. As such, it’s likely that the final battles of part 3 will play out somewhat differently than the original.
The main part of this finale that most fans will be looking forward to is the fight against Safer Sephiroth, since the original is one of the most iconic final boss battles in gaming. However, the bosses leading up to this fight could deviate from the original quite a bit thanks to the existence of the Whispers and the different worlds that are beginning to reunite at the end of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Instead of Bizarro Sephiroth, the phase in between Jenova Synthesis and Safer Sephiroth could see Cloud and the party battle one final incarnation of the Whispers, bringing closure to that aspect of the remake trilogy.
