Blizzard has revealed more details about the Overwatch 2 Mythic Shop, which is being added to the hero shooter game as part of the Season 10 update. Overwatch 2 Season 10 represents a big moment for the game, as Blizzard is using it to make some sweeping changes.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 is shaking up the way the game distributes new heroes, and it is also making some big balance changes to various characters. Not only that, but Competitive Play is having its restrictions loosened, allowing Overwatch 2 players to play with their friends regardless of their skill rating. But one of the more interesting new additions in Season 10 is the Mythic Shop, which gives players a new way to earn Mythic skins in the game.

Overwatch 2 reveals more details about Mirrorwatch, the alternate reality game mode coming in Season 10, including when the event takes place.

Overwatch 2 players will be able to collect Mythic Prisms starting with Tier 8 of the Battle Pass. For every subsequent 10 tiers, players will earn 8 Mythic Prisms, all the way to Tier 78. Players will have enough Mythic Prisms to unlock a Mythic hero skin upon hitting Tier 48 of the Battle Pass, and they will have enough to unlock customization for said skin upon reaching Tier 78. Players will have the choice between the new Mythic Mercy skin or previously-released Mythics that they may have missed out on.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 Adding the Mythic Shop

Some Overwatch 2 players may be tempted to spend their Mythic Prisms on older skins in the Mythic Shop that they missed, but it should be noted that after Season 10 wraps up, the new Mercy Mythic will be going away for two seasons. So, players have to choose between getting the Mercy Mythic this season or waiting until Season 13 to add it to their roster of skins. This will apply to the new Mythics every season, so players will have to make some tough decisions.

While some may find this change to Mythic skins in Overwatch 2 to be controversial, others will be happy with the new Mythic Shop. After all, it gives Overwatch 2 players the opportunity to snag some of the Mythic skins that they may have missed in previous seasons, and it also adds more value to the Battle Pass.

It makes sense that Blizzard is making moves to boost the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. Starting with Season 10, new heroes are no longer locked behind Battle Pass ownership or progression, meaning all players can try out new Damage hero Venture immediately upon their release. While this move no doubt benefits the community, it also admittedly gives some players less reason to buy the Battle Pass. Those individuals could potentially be swayed by the lure of Mythic Prisms and the new Mythic Shop, but time will tell how it all works out.
