Overwatch has revealed the hero coming in Reign of Talon Season 2: a drone-commanding soldier with a unique rifle and a long pink braid. This currently-unnamed Hero 51 will join the roster of Overwatch heroes when the next season arrives.

This year, Overwatch is changing its typical formula in some big ways. Rather than releasing one hero every other season, Overwatch is dropping 10 throughout 2026, with the first five arriving in Reign of Talon Season 1, and a single character every subsequent season.

Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 Hero Revealed

Now, with Reign of Talon Season 2 right around the corner, Blizzard has officially shown off the next hero. Little information is currently available about this character, but her newly colored silhouette reveals a great deal. This feminine hero has tan skin, an athletic green-and-red outfit, and a long, two-pronged rifle that looks like it could shoot unique projectiles. However, Hero 51’s most striking features have to be her floor-length braid and matching pink flying drone.

As of right now, the character’s name, backstory, and abilities have not been revealed. Players can expect to learn more starting April 8 with her official Hero Trailer. This will likely be a new animation that not only reveals this new character but also continues the story of Reign of Talon as it moves into its second chapter. The hero will then arrive on April 14 with the start of the new Overwatch season.

Who Is the Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 Hero?

At present, fans can only speculate as to who this new character is. That said, her design calls to mind Frankie, one of the core members of Ashe’s Deadlock Rebels. Frankie is known to command microdrones for both communication and recon, similar to the revealed hero. What’s more, the Deadlock gang is helping Vendetta with an upcoming mission to hit Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, a former Overwatch base now under Helix control. Now that Talon and the Deadlock Rebels are working together in Overwatch, it could be the perfect time to introduce a new member of Ashe’s crew.

However, previous descriptions of Frankie have depicted her differently from the Season 2 hero. Though she was described as dark-skinned with dyed hair, Frankie had short, curly lavender hair, rather than Hero 51’s exceptionally long red-pink braid. Additionally, this character lacks the rimless hologlasses Frankie was said to wear. While this could be a mere stylistic choice, it could mean this new character is not Frankie at all, and is instead a new character in the lore of Overwatch.

The new hero also appears to have a Helix Security logo on her uniform, which could mean she might actually be on the opposite side of Ashe in the upcoming Helix-Deadlock showdown.

Gameplay-wise, Overwatch associate game director Alec Dawson previously confirmed the Season 2 hero was a damage hero with satisfying gameplay and ranged abilities. This character almost certainly utilizes one or more drones in battle, which could mean she may be able to summon targetable NPC allies, like with Bastion’s Ultimate in Overwatch‘s Mirrorwatch game mode.

Either way, this new character is only one aspect confirmed for Reign of Talon Season 2. Reworks to the Antarctic Peninsula map, Ramattra in the Stadium game mode, post-match accolades, and an official Switch 2 port are all on the docket for the next Overwatch Season. There are also several features that have been confirmed for later seasons, though it is unclear if any of them will be a part of Season 2:

  • Stadium Trials
  • Sombra rework
  • Mythic hero skins for Soldier: 76, Illari, Mauga, Ana, and Genji
  • Mythic weapon skins for Genji, Hanzo, and Sojourn
  • Map Voting, Hero Ban, and Competitive Drive improvements

Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 2 starts April 14. This means players can expect to learn more about what’s coming in this update soon, likely around the same time as the new hero’s trailer.
