Persona 4 Revival has received an age rating in South Korea, suggesting that it will be released within the next year. Sega and Atlus announced that a remake of Persona 4, called Persona 4 Revival, was in development during the 2025 Xbox Showcase with a teaser trailer. Following on from the success of the last Persona entry, Persona 3 Reload, Revival is a ground-up remake that will keep the main story beats of the original but include a number of updates, new features, and a complete graphical overhaul. Like Persona 3 Reload, which is based on Persona 3 FES rather than the original game, Persona 4 Revival is expected to use the updated version, Persona 4 Golden, as the basis for the remake.

Sega hasn’t officially revealed Persona 4 Revival‘s release window, but its financial reports suggest that the company is aiming to launch the Persona 4 remake in fiscal year 2027. This means that Sega is expecting for it to be released between April 2026 and March 2027. Persona 3 Reload launched in February 2024, so Sega could be targeting a release window similarly early in the year for Revival. The other likely option is that Sega is aiming for a lucrative holiday period launch before the end of 2026.

Persona 4 Revival is Coming at the Right Time for Everyone—But Me

The Persona 4 Revival announcement has tons of fans excited, as it should, but it has me slightly regretting recent life choices.

Persona 4 Revival is Rated in South Korea

As spotted by Gematsu, Persona 4 Revival has received an age rating in South Korea suggesting that it won’t be long before a release date is announced. South Korea is usually one of the first countries to hand out age ratings for upcoming games, with announcements given months before a game launches. As an example, Kingdom Come Deliverence 2 received an age rating from South Korea on August 1, 2024, and the game was released on February 4, 2025, leaving six months between rating and release.

It appears that Persona 4 Revival was submitted to the South Korean age rating board on April 9, 2026, and was awarded a 15 rating on April 24, 2026. This doesn’t mean that Revival is approaching its release date, but it’s likely an indicator that there will be a new trailer for Persona 4 Revival sooner rather than later. Given that we are fast approaching summer lineup of gaming conventions like Summer Game Fest and Gamescom, fans might not have to wait much longer to see more of the upcoming remake.

It is rumored that a lineup of Persona 4-themed Funko Pops will be releasing at the start of 2027. If the Funko Pop drop is real, then it suggests that Persona 4 Revival is preparing to be released around this time. This window matches information gathered from both Sega’s financial reports and the age rating awarded by the South Korean board. As the age rating was given out in April 2026, it seems increasingly likely that Revival will be targeting a holiday season release date rather than early 2027.

Fans all have their own Persona 4 Revival wish list, but there are a number of changes that seem likely given the changes made to Persona 3 Reload. Revival will likely add Theurgy and Baton Pass attacks that are included in the more recent Persona games, as well as additional activities to take part in during Free Time segments. The story and Social Links are expected to remain mostly the same, but some of the more controversial jokes, particularly those about the LGBTQ+ community, could be changed like they were in Reload. However, outside graphical changes, no other adjustments to the game have been officially announced.
