Pokemon Champions Release Date & Countdown

Pokemon Champions will use the term "extremely effective" rather than just "super effective" for attacks that hit enemies with a 4x type weakness, with fans using Heracross being hit with a Flying-type attack as an example.Image via The Pokemon Company

It is important to mention that Pokemon Champions will be available on Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles for free, though it will require an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play. The game will release later this year on mobile, at a yet-to-be-confirmed date.

Pokemon Champions is set to change the historical PvP gimmick in Pokemon Mainline games and will be debuting as the preferred platform to contest Ranked Battles and Tournaments, starting from its release date and the Pokemon World Championship that will be held in San Francisco from August 28 to 30.

Now that you know the exact time when this new battle platform is releasing, you’d better prepare to be the very best, as the Pokemon Champions Meta is going to be heating up real fast. As a live service game, with access to the complete Pokemon Roster (except banned ones according to the ongoing ruleset), there will be a myriad of strategies to play at the same time.

Players will be able to transfer their preferred Pokemon from other games (Including Legends Z-A, Pokemon GO, and Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen) using Pokemon Home, and at the same time, they can acquire Pokemon from the roster of Pokemon Champions using Victory Points (the in-game currency earned through winning battles).
