One Pokemon Winds and Waves fan has created incredible artwork, imagining what the final evolutions of Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua could look like. While The Pokemon Company might have just revealed Pokemon Winds and Waves, the community has wasted no time showcasing impressive artwork based on its starters.

On February 27, a new Pokemon Presents aired that included many big announcements. During the presentation, The Pokemon Company revealed new content for games like Pokemon Unite and Pokemon GO while also sharing new details about upcoming releases, such as Pokemon Champions. However, the biggest news from the Pokemon Presents was a first look at the Gen 10 games, Pokemon Winds and Waves. While some details about the titles had leaked early, including the names, players received a much better idea of what to expect thanks to an official trailer. In that video, the starter trio was unveiled.

Don’t Get Too Attached to Pokemon Winds and Waves’ Pombon

Pokemon Winds and Waves already have a fan favorite starter in Pombon, but there are some unfortunate reasons why you should curb your enthusiasm.

Pokemon Fan’s Final Evolutions of Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua

Unsurprisingly, the community has already started creating fan art based on these critters. Among the artists sharing their work is Reddit user KosukeSukeP, who designed final evolutions for Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua. The results were impressive, with each evolved form having a unique yet familiar appearance. Starting with the Grass-type Browt, KosukeSukeP created a flamboyant final evolution that imagined the bird-like Pokemon with long tail feathers and an impressive crest. In the case of Pombon, the artist accentuated its fire characteristics, creating a striking appearance. Lastly, the final evolution for Gecqua transformed the Pokemon into something reminiscent of a dragon.

When sharing the post on Reddit, KosukeSukeP revealed that the designs were based on Garuda, Barong, and Naga, mythological creatures from Southeast Asia. So far, the reception to the designs has been overwhelmingly positive, with the post earning over 6.2K upvotes. In the comments, fans debated their favorite starter design, with many claiming Browt was growing on them. While the fan art of all three final evolutions was well received on Reddit, many users unfortunately thought that the actual designs used by Game Freak would likely look very different. Specifically, they thought the developer would opt for bipedal designs similar to those seen in some previous games. Ultimately, gamers will have to wait and see what the final evolutions of Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua will end up being.

It is no wonder that KosukeSukeP’s Pokemon starter designs turned out so well. They are an experienced artist who often shares their work on places like Reddit. Over the last few years, they have created armor and weapons inspired by Pokemon designs, with impressive results. Some examples include turning Paradox Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet into sword and shield designs. They have also posted original artwork based on other Nintendo franchises, such as Kirby.

While Pokemon Winds and Waves are coming later than some might have expected, fans like KosukeSukeP will likely help build hype for the games through new fan art in the meantime. As a fan community filled with artists, new artwork based on characters and pocket monsters from the Pokemon games regularly appears online. In particular, numerous artistic gamers have been using their talents to create fan art of Browt since his reveal, with many loving the adorable design of the Grass-type starter.

It will be interesting to see what other details about the game will be unveiled in the coming year. More new Pokemon will inevitably be announced, and they will likely become the subjects of fan art as well. However, it remains to be seen if they can take the spotlight away from the Gen 10 starters.
