Pokemon Fan Art Gives Crustle a Minecraft-Inspired Makeover

One talented Pokemon fan creates a new version of Crustle that gives a look into what a crossover with Minecraft could be like.

Such is the case with Minecraft player pleinair1212, who shared their incredible Pokemon build. The 100×100 statue features Groudon and Kyogre, with Groudon swiping at Kyogre, who is leaping overhead. The fan appears to have based the poses off of the two’s signature attack moves, Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse, respectively. The build is rounded out with the sea and lava crashing together, further amplifying the conflict between these two Pokemon.

Fans in the comments are thoroughly impressed with the build, sharing their appreciation for the amount of time and effort the artist must have spent on it. Players were pleased to see the Groudon and Kyogre conflict recreated, with one calling for more Pokemon battle scenes to be built in Minecraft in general. Several shared their hopes that the artist would post schematics of the statue so that they could potentially build their own. However, at the time of writing, the artist hadn’t responded to these requests.

Pokemon and Minecraft

Pokemon and Minecraft are two games that have shown that they can withstand the test of time. While Minecraft and Pokemon have never had an official collaboration, that hasn’t stopped fans from frequently combining the two. Players have recreated Pokemon‘s Goldenrod City in Minecraft, as well as numerous individual Pokemon. Some fans have also taken to combining Minecraft and Pokemon in other ways, with one sharing their concept for what Minecraft mobs would look like as Pokemon.

Players have also made connections between the games before, at least with regard to their art style and Pokemon designs. Fans pointed out that Nacli and its evolutions look like they popped out of Minecraft due to the blocky design the creatures have. While a Pokemon and Minecraft crossover might not be in the cards, players are more than happy to keep combining the two franchises.
