A Pokemon fan with a talent for crochet has shared the incredible Bulbasaur plush that they’ve made, to the fandom’s delight. The Pokemon crochet is an excellent three-dimensional rendition of Bulbasaur, and this plush will have an important role in helping to bringing up the next generation of Pokemon fans.

Pokemon fans never stop finding ways to celebrate their favorite creatures, people, and moments from the franchise. With the original Pokemon games having just passed their 30th birthday, there are multiple generations that have been raised with the games, anime, cards, and its permeating presence in pop culture.

A talented artist and Pokemon fan is recreating some of their favorite creatures in impressive collages using real-life everyday objects.

Pokemon Fan Crochets Bulbasaur Plush With a Purpose

A talented fan with a history of sharing adorable Pokemon crochet work has done it again, this time creating a cute Bulbasaur. The fan has shared numerous photos of their creation from all angles, including the process of bringing it to life in multiple parts. Thanks to being made out of crochet, Bulbasaur has a bumpy texture, and the attention to detail is spot-on. Everything from the spots on its head to its little fangs and the iconic bulb on its back are represented. While it’s possible to hold Bulbasaur with a single hand, making it smaller than its in-game version, it’s likely that this particular crochet project would delight just about any fan of the Grass/Poison-type Pokemon.

Numerous fans of the franchise have been showering the artist with compliments on Bulbasaur. The face and overall head have drawn a lot of praise, to which the artist responded with a few details. Bulbasaur’s head was apparently pretty heavy, so phinerz had to get creative, and filled out the interior with some pantyhose and stuffing pellets. While this artist has shared a lot of crochet works based on the franchise in the past, like a giant crochet Mosslax based on Pokemon Pokopia, this Bulbasaur has an important role to fill. The artist created it for a friend’s new baby, where it will likely become one of the infant’s first exposures to the Pokemon franchise in general.

While this Bulbasaur will probably be a treasured gift, it’s far from the first time that Pokemon fans have made sure to introduce the series to their little ones early on. Other gamers have taken the opportunity to decorate newborns’ nurseries with Pokemon, while some have done similar things with older kids’ rooms. Introducing their kids to the games has also been something that Pokemon fans have enjoyed, including a fan who surrendered a valuable and rare catch to their child in Pokemon GO to help fill out their Pokedex.

Officials with The Pokemon Company have previously said that they hope Pokemon carries on for hundreds of years. If successful, children being born around this time could very well be introducing Pokemon to their own kids and grandkids decades from now, with just as much excitement as current players have for the monster-catching games and overall franchise. With that in mind, perhaps this adorable Bulbasaur crochet plush will be loved enough to eventually become a handed-down family heirloom.
