Pokemon GO has confirmed the debut of Minior and its Core forms through a series of events starting from October 19, 2026, to August 2027. Although Pokemon GO first introduced Gen 7 back in 2022, there are still some Alolan creatures that have not made their in-game debuts yet.

Several Gen 7 Pokemon have made their way into Pokemon GO over the years. Earlier in April, the game finally added the long-requested Mimikyu to its Pokedex. More recently, during GO Fest 2026: Global, Pokemon GO debuted the Mythical Zeraora through Special Research, making it one of the rarest monsters available. Now, yet another fan-favorite Alolan creature is landing in the game, and players will have very specific windows to catch it.

Pokemon GO has announced that the Rock/Flying-type Minior will debut during limited events dubbed “Minior Showers” that coincide with real-life meteor showers. Minior is a Pokemon with seven different Core forms, so each Minior Shower will debut a different color. The first Minior Shower will run from October 19 to 24, 2026, with the upcoming Orionids meteor phenomenon. There will be two more editions in November and December. Then, the next Minion Showers will occur in May, July, and August 2027. It is worth noting that Pokemon GO has not specified which Minior Core color is scheduled for each event. Moreover, in the Geminids December edition, two Minior Cores will be added, but one is restricted to the Northern Hemisphere and the other to the Southern Hemisphere.

During the meteor showers, Minior will spawn in the wild, and fans will have an increased chance to catch it. Capturing Minior will also grant extra Stardust. Additionally, Minior will be able to change forms during battle, allowing players to plan different strategies. Once its health is down below 50%, it will switch from Meteor to Core form. Minior’s Meteor Form has a higher Defense and lower Attack, whereas its Core Form offers higher Attack and lower Defense. Fans should keep in mind that Minior can only switch forms while battling in the GO Battle League or when defeating Team Rocket and team leaders. Finally, during the Minior Showers, Pokemon GO‘s in-game sky will feature shooting stars.

There are still plenty of Pokemon debuts planned for Pokemon GO‘s ongoing Halloween season, Twilight Trails. From October 4 to 10, a limited-time spacesuit Pikachu will appear in One-Star Raids. Later, on October 13, the Grass/Ghost-type Bramblin is coming to Pokemon GO via GO Pass tasks or Incense encounters. Other Pokemon expected to debut in the coming months include Mega Chandelure and Dynamax Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf.

Scopely has already chosen Zorua for Pokemon GO‘s October 10 Community Day, with several bonuses during the event, such as triple XP and double Candy from catches. Pokemon GO is already looking forward to 2027 as well. The game recently confirmed the dates for its first in-person GO Tour 2027 events in Taiwan and the US, running from February 19 to 21. Many fans suspect that the upcoming GO Tour will feature Dawn Wings and Dusk Mane Necrozma.
