A new Pokemon GO Super Mega Raid Day will take place in May, which will see the in-game debut of Mega Falinks. The Mega Evolution mechanic was introduced in the mainline video games in 2013 and was added to Pokemon GO in 2020. Over the last six years, developer Niantic has added several Mega Evolutions to the game, including the vast majority from Pokemon X and Y as well as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A introduced a brand-new batch of Mega Evolutions to the franchise last year. Pokemon GO has started to slowly add these newcomers to the game, bringing in new favorites like Mega Dragonite, Mega Victreebel, and Mega Malamar. Between Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its DLC, more than 40 new Mega Evolutions debuted, and Pokemon GO players can expect to see them added to the game over time.

Pokemon GO Falinks Super Mega Raid Day Revealed
Pokemon GO teased a Mega Raid Day on its May Raid schedule, and now full details have been confirmed. A Super Mega Raid Day focused on Mega Falinks will take place in Pokemon GO on Saturday, May 23, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Niantic will temporarily increase the limit on Remote Raids to 20 between Friday, May 22 at 5 p.m. through Saturday, May 23 at 8 p.m. PT. Players who participate in Super Mega Raids will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Falinks, and up to six extra Raid Passes can be obtained by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
Players can get even more Raid Passes through an optional event ticket that will cost $4.99, and Pokemon GO players who make the purchase can get up to 14 Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs. Other bonuses from the event ticket include an increased chance of getting Rare Candy XL following Raid Battles, as well as an additional 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust from Super Mega Raids. Players should keep in mind that these bonuses are only active during the hours of the event.
Pokemon GO made changes to Mega Evolution earlier this year, and even more changes are coming next month. Specifically, players can expect an update to how Mega Energy works. Starting on Falinks Super Mega Raid Day, players will be able to use Mega Energy to quickly increase a Pokemon’s Mega Level. The amount of Mega Energy needed to increase the Mega Level will be lower if a player has already Mega Evolved that Pokemon multiple times.

Shortly after Falinks Super Mega Raid Day, Pokemon GO Fest 2026’s in-person events will start rolling out. Niantic has not offered a lot of details about the event just yet, but Pokemon GO is rumored to finally add Mega Mewtwo X and Y. Mega Mewtwo X and Y were some of the first Mega Evolutions introduced in the franchise, but have yet to make their debut in Pokemon GO. That could finally come to an end, but it remains to be seen whether those rumors will prove to be correct.
