Pokemon Go is celebrating the launch of Pokemon Pokopia with a special crossover event. On top of adding a new hat-wearing Ditto to the game, the event offers a slew of missions to complete, including two Collection Challenges and a new Timed Research line.
These missions will only be available for a limited time, and they dole out some nice rewards, including guaranteed encounters with the new Ditto variants, so you’ll want to complete them while they’re around. Some will require a bit of time and effort, however, so we’ve rounded up the full list of tasks and rewards to help you complete them all before the event ends.
Pokemon Pokopia Timed Research Tasks and Rewards
Available until March 16, 8 PM local time
- Catch 25 Pokemon – 10 Ditto candy
- Explore 1 km – Pikachu encounter
- Spin 10 PokeStops or Gyms – 5 Great Balls
- Send 5 gifts to friends – 3,000 Stardust
- Catch 50 Pokemon – Snorlax encounter
- Explore 2 km – 10 Pinap Berries
- Spin 30 PokeStops or Gyms – 10 Rare Candies
- Complete 15 Field Research tasks – Tangrowth encounter
- Catch 75 Pokemon – Cap Ditto (with special background) encounter
- Explore 3 km – Hat Ditto (with special background) encounter
Reward: 10,000 XP, 10 Pikachu Pokopia stickers
Each of the Timed Research tasks is fairly straightforward, but many will require a bit of persistence to complete. Continue catching as many Pokemon as you can each day and you’ll eventually check off the catching tasks, and the exploring tasks are simply a matter of walking the requisite distance while your game is open.
Pokemon Pokopia Collection Challenge 1
Catch these Pokemon before March 16, 8 PM local time
- Pikachu
- Combee
- Scyther
- Zorua
Reward: Cap Ditto (with special background) encounter
Like the Timed Research tasks, the Pokopia Collection Challenges are both fairly straightforward. All you need to do is catch at least one of each required Pokemon and you’ll eventually complete the challenge.
Helpfully, all of these Pokemon will be spawning in the wild throughout the event, so it shouldn’t take you very long to get them all. The only somewhat tricky one to find is Zorua. Similar to Ditto, Zorua disguises itself as another Pokemon, so you can’t initially tell when one has appeared. Unlike Ditto, however, Zorua will transform into whatever Pokemon you have set as your buddy, so it should be easy to spot.
Pokemon Pokopia Collection Challenge 2
Catch these Pokemon before March 16, 8 PM local time
- Marill
- Goomy
- Hitmonchan
- Sudowoodo
Reward: Hat Ditto (with special background) encounter
As with the other Collection Challenge, all you need to do is catch at least one of each required Pokemon to clear this mission. All of these Pokemon also will be spawning in the wild throughout the event, so just play the game enough and you should be able to snag them all without much difficulty.
Pokemon Go’s Pokopia Celebration runs until March 16, but there are a few more events on the horizon for this month, including Scorbunny Community Day and the debut of Gigantamax Pikachu. Check out our roundup for more details on Pokemon Go’s biggest March events.
