Pokemon GO has released the fourth and final update for its Rediscover campaign. In an effort to keep current players engaged and potentially bring lapsed players back into the fold, developer Niantic has been releasing a series of updates for Pokemon GO meant to outfit the game with serious upgrades. The Pokemon GO Rediscover campaign started back in April, and it has unfortunately been a mixed bag so far.

The Pokemon GO Rediscover campaign started with “Rediscover Yourself,” which saw hugely controversial changes made to the game’s avatars. The Pokemon GO avatar changes have been widely panned by the game’s community, with many fans incredibly unhappy with how their avatars look post-update. Considering the widespread negative response to the avatar changes, there are some hoping Niantic will reverse course, though it has not announced any plans to do so.

A Pokemon GO player shows great dedication, and completes a Research that other trainers consider to be the hardest in the game.

In the meantime, the fourth and final Pokemon GO Rediscover update is available to download right now. Titled “Rediscover Your Reality,” the last Pokemon GO Rediscover update is all about enhancing the game’s augmented reality features, particularly GO Snapshot. After downloading the update, Pokemon GO players can include up to three Pokemon in their snapshots, with the game providing group set suggestions. Players are able to choose how to position the Pokemon and interact with them using a new toy, with the option of further editing the photos after. Players are also able to take advantage of the new burst mode and timer features.

Compared to the controversial avatar changes, it’s likely that the Rediscover Your Reality update will be well-received. After all, the changes made to Pokemon GO biomes with the Rediscover Your World update seem to be considered a general improvement by players, and so it’s hard to see how many will take issue with the GO Snapshot upgrades. Then again, it’s entirely possible that the update will cause some unforeseen issues like some of the previous updates have, so fans should keep an eye out.

Besides Rediscover Your Reality, Rediscover Yourself, and Rediscover Your World, Pokemon GO also launched the Rediscover Kanto update. Rediscover Kanto greatly increased appearances by Kanto region Pokemon in Pokemon GO, a move that has also proven to be controversial. While some Pokemon GO players appreciated the opportunity to complete some Kanto-specific Field Research tasks they had been stuck on, others complained that the game was once again going back to Kanto instead of giving other generations some time in the spotlight.
