Pokemon GO has officially revealed a brand-new event coming to the game in October 2026, giving fans the chance to hatch plenty of Gen 5 Pokemon Sandile. The Pokemon GO event will arrive at the midpoint of the game’s ongoing Twilight Trials season.
The newest season of the beloved monster-catching mobile game has already given fans plenty of chances to catch new Pokemon. Pokemon GO kicked off its Fall season with the Mega Squads event, which introduced Gen 9 Pokemon Maschiff and its evolution, Mabosstiff, to the game, alongside upgrades for Mega Beedrill and Mega Houndoom. The mobile game also confirmed a pair of new Pokemon being added in Twilight Trials, debuting Bramblin and Brambleghast with the Fall Marathon: Buddy Trek event, set to begin on October 13. Now, another October event will put the spotlight on a popular creature from Pokemon‘s fifth generation.

Pokemon GO formally revealed its upcoming Sandile Hatch Day, putting the focus on the Ground/Dark-type Pokemon Sandile. The event will increase the rates for Sandile to hatch from 2 km Eggs, with an increased chance of hatching Shiny Sandiles during the Hatch Day. Players will also earn increased rewards for hatching Eggs during the event, cutting the hatch distances for Pokemon GO‘s Eggs in half and players earning double Candy from Eggs. Fans will be given plenty of chances to hatch Sandiles as well, raising the chances for players to receive 2 km Eggs when spinning Pokemon GO‘s PokeStops. Sandile Hatch Day will run on October 17, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Scopely Explore has also revealed the Timed Research rewards available throughout the duration of Sandile Hatch Day. The event will include free Timed Research missions, which will reward players with both a free Incubator and bonus XP for hatching Eggs in Pokemon GO. Paid Timed Research missions will also be available for fans to purchase during the event, reducing hatch distances to one-quarter of their normal value and rewarding players with a Star Piece and two Super Incubators. Pokemon GO also teased further rewards for the Paid Timed Research, though Scopely Explore did not reveal details about the additional bonuses.
Sandile Hatch Day is just one of several events planned for Pokemon GO throughout October. Alongside the previously mentioned Bramblin event, Pokemon GO officially confirmed October’s Community Day event, featuring Zorua and Zoroark as its spotlight Pokemon with Zoroark learning Sucker Punch as a Fast Attack when it evolves during the event. The event was also confirmed to only feature increased spawns for the original version of Zorua, excluding the Hisuian variant first featured in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The mobile game is also adding a brand-new shiny form during October, with the Taken Over event welcoming the debut of shiny Shroodle.
Pokemon GO is getting fans ready for plenty of major events coming to the game beyond October and even into 2027. Scopely Explore recently revealed the return of Pokemon GO‘s Wild Area event in November, with both an in-person event in Japan and Mexico during the weekend of November 6 to November 8 and a global event the following weekend. The mobile game also shared more details about the 2027 edition of its Pokemon GO Tour event, confirmed to be themed around the Alola region and running in February 2027. Pokemon GO players can look forward to a multitude of exciting events on the horizon from the mobile game.
