A new update to Pokemon GO will help to prevent players from losing their very best Pokemon. The new feature has been frequently requested in the past, and is finally a reality in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO Update Preserves Perfect Pokemon

In an update on October 8, Pokemon GO made a significant change to the way the game works that will help to protect 100% IV Pokemon and other rare varieties from being accidentally transferred. This potential pitfall has been a major headache for players who have lost some of their best Pokemon due to it. The game will now issue a warning if a player tries to transfer a Pokemon with maxed stats, giving players an opportunity to cancel the transfer. For bulk transfers, the game will point out a number of rare Pokemon if they’re included in the transfer, including Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, Special Background Pokemon, and Mega- or Primal-Leveled Pokemon, and provides the option to leave them out of the transfer. Providing that Pokemon GO trainers don’t tap through their screens too quickly, this should prevent the worst from happening during transfers.
