Mystery Gifts have been a mainstay for Pokemon players since Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Yes, Mystery Gifts are that old and were done via infrared at that time. Modern Mystery Gifts began with Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, and all fans know that Pokemon Legends: Z-A has its own Mystery Gifts. However, it’s worth noting that a handful are expiring at the end of February 2026, followed shortly thereafter by another handful of expiring Mystery Gifts.
Of course, time is a tricky beast and emails are easily skipped over (as some Mystery Gifts went to emails). Pokemon Legends: Z-A players—lapsed, new, or somewhere in-between—should act quickly to claim these Mystery Gifts before they are gone. It’s worth noting that it’s a good time to keep an eye on Mystery Gifts anyway. It’s likely no coincidence that these codes expire the day after Pokemon Day, which takes place on February 27, and it would be surprising if no new Mystery Gifts were revealed for the event.
The Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mystery Gifts expiring on February 28 are largely items, some of which players may not struggle with. However, some of these expiring Mystery Gifts are for strong Mega Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

To claim a Mystery Gift in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, make sure to have done the following:
- Player until asked to visit Mable at the Pokemon Research Lab
- Then, access Link Play in the Main Menu
- Select Mystery Gift
- Select Gift Via Internet or Input a Code
There are conflicting reports regarding the expiration of Shine Bright Like a Gemstone. IGN reports that the Mystery Gift is likely forever, while Gamesradar reports it is expiring on February 28. The best thing to do here is to go ahead and claim the Diancie Mission in case it does expire.

If someone is uncertain whether or not they’ve claimed these Mystery Gifts, the easiest thing is to check via the Mystery Gift menu. That’ll tell players what they’ve claimed so far. If so, there’s no stress to do so by either February 28 or March 10.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A players should keep an eye on the end of February either way still. Mystery Gifts certainly seem plausible, but more than that, the next generation of Pokemon (dubbed Pokemon Wind and Wave) is expected to be revealed. That likely means a look at the Gen 10 Starters, while there are rumors of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen finally coming to Switch. All will be answered in due time, but it’s definitely a good time to be a Pokemon fan.
