The Pokemon TCG has accidentally revealed a set of new promo cards releasing in the 2027 McDonald’s Pack, a year before the product is set to be released. The annual McDonald’s promotion has become one of the Pokemon TCG‘s most popular collaborations.

Pokemon fans have been given plenty of exciting new promo cards throughout the game’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Each new core expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game comes with its own batch of prerelease promo cards, emblazoned with stamps of the set’s logo. The game has also continued to introduce a wealth of unique cards through various products, including the special Futuristic Rare Espeon, Umbreon, and Pikachu cards releasing with the upcoming Ultra-Premium Collection for 30th Celebration. Now, Pokemon has accidentally revealed some special new promos not releasing until late 2027.

As spotted by PokeBeach, The Pokemon Company revealed the full lineup of cards with the game’s 2027 McDonald’s promo packs, though the company likely did not intend to. The reveal came as part of a promotional post for the 2026 McDonald’s Pokemon event, set to launch in the United States on November 10, which erroneously featured cards from the 2027 set. The assortment of McDonald’s cards features plenty of popular starter Pokemon among the set, including Bulbasaur, Torchic, and Squirtle, alongside other fan favorites like Clefairy and Eevee. The McDonald’s 2027 promos are expected to release sometime in 2027, likely later in the year similar to past Pokemon promotions.

The leaked lineup of McDonald’s promo cards includes several cards that have not officially debuted in the Pokemon TCG. Fans were quick to notice an unreleased Squirtle card among the McDonald’s promo lineup from a future set, potentially releasing in the Flowing Fists expansion. The Squirtle has led to heavy speculation that one of 2027’s expansions will feature Mega Blastoise as one of its highlight Pokemon, currently being the last Kanto starter Mega Pokemon to not receive a new card during the Mega Evolution era.

Pokemon‘s 2027 McDonald’s set comes as information has been relatively light beyond the early months of the coming year. The Pokemon TCG has already confirmed its first expansion of the year, planning to debut the Flowing Fists set on February 5, featuring Mega Lucario Z as the cover Pokemon for the expansion. The Pokemon TCG is also getting some premium accessories in early 2027 as well, officially confirming the Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection, featuring sleeves and a deck box from Dragon Shield, alongside plenty of Pokemon TCG booster packs.

The Pokemon TCG has one more major release planned for the end of 2026, debuting its final expansion of the year. Delta Reign will officially release on November 6, bringing Mega Rayquaza ex back to the game for the first time since the release of Ancient Origins. The expansion is also adding several other new Mega Pokemon to the game in Delta Reign, including Mega Golisopod and Mega Golurk, which were first introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Pokemon TCG fans should have plenty to be excited for throughout the conclusion of 2026 and into 2027.
