Pokemon fans may not know the name of the upcoming Pokemon Winds and Waves region, but a leak has pieced together the actual map. It’s worth noting that this map is based on the Pokemon Teraleak 2, which revealed several key details about Pokemon Winds and Waves (and other Pokemon games), back in 2025. The included data is believed to be accurate as of 2024, which does mean some things could have changed since then.

Possible Spoilers for Pokemon Winds and Waves Ahead

At that time, several in-development games and details leaked online. Beyond what’s been released since then (like Pokopia and Pokemon Legends: Z-A), it suggests that Pokemon Winds and Waves, Pokemon Legends 3, and a Multi-Gen Pokemon Game were all in the works. How that shakes out remains to be seen, but as with all leaks, the new region map should be taken with a grain of salt.

Pokemon Anime Gives a Much Better Idea of When to Expect the Winds and Waves Release Date

Pokemon fans may be waiting longer than expected for Winds and Waves if the upcoming Horizons anime arc is anything to go by.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Region Map: Gyms, Locations, and More

Shared by the leak aggregate account Centro Leaks, someone has taken the data, models, and such, and pieced together the map of the region. Beyond each now-numbered island (given Pokemon Winds and Waves is inspired by Southeast Asia), key locations like POIs, Gyms, Caves, Research Labs, and more are included. Beyond that, there is a plethora of Oceans and Deep Seas to explore (with Dive said to return), including a unique location within called the Neon Abyss. Within those, it appears, to be the Legendary Temples for the Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ box art legendaries. Per this Leak, fans can also piece together the typing of the Gyms, Majin Research Labs, and Elite Four.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Gyms

  • Grass
  • Poison
  • Flying
  • Fighting
  • Dark
  • Normal
  • Steel
  • Fairy

Pokemon Winds and Waves Research Labs

  • Fire
  • Ice
  • Ground
  • Rock
  • Psychic
  • Ghost (Omitted from this map, but included in a prior leak)

Pokemon Winds and Waves Elite Four

  • Bug
  • Dragon
  • Water
  • Electric

It bears repeating that anything could change between the data in this leak and the 2027 release date of Pokemon Winds and Waves, but it does give fans some indication as to what the region will include. Beyond just the core story components (Gyms –> Elite Four), there’s plenty of POIs like the Anthill, the Ivy Jungle, Mountains, and Volcanos to further encourage exploration and Pokemon catching. Suffice it to say, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet‘s open-world gameplay had a mixed reception from players, but Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ open world seems to be dialing it up to 11.

Fit the 9 games into the grid.

Fit the 9 games into the grid.

Of course, it all remains to be seen. And there’s a lot to learn, ranging from the new Pokemon coming in Pokemon Winds and Waves to the purpose of these Research Labs and the overall Gen 10 Battle Gimmick. Rumors suggest that there’s not going to be any news until next year, however, so fans will need to be patient. Gen 10 is coming, either way, but fans will no doubt appreciate it if it’s done right, not done quick.
