Critics and audiences continue to praise Pokemon Pokopia for its extensive customization tools, which have allowed fans to create stunning in-game builds. While many fans have chosen to flex their imaginative muscles and design completely original features, others have instead drawn inspiration from their favorite books, shows, and movies. One Pokemon Pokopia player in particular has quickly caught the attention of fellow online community members with their jaw-dropping recreation of the bathhouse from Studio Ghibil’s Academy Award-winning animated feature film Spirited Away.
When Nintendo first revealed Pokemon Pokopia, many longtime fans were shocked to see such a massive diversion away from the pocket monster battles that defined the franchise for decades, but a majority of those hesitations and doubts vanished shortly after Pokopia released. Between the adorable graphics, laid-back vibes, and impressive customization features in Pokopia, players have found plenty to enjoy with the life-sim Pokemon game. The appeal of Pokopia to not just Pokemon fans but to players who enjoy games like Stardew Valley and The Sims has helped to draw in new audiences, and some of those users have put the game’s mechanics to the test with unbelievable builds.

Spirited Away Bathhouse in Pokemon Pokopia
Reddit user Melanerd shared a comprehensive look at their picture-perfect recreation of the Spirited Away bathhouse in Pokemon Pokopia. What started out as a simple build inspired by the iconic anime locale turned into a full-scale project to remake the entire bathhouse, including interior layouts, and Studio Ghibli and Pokopia players have been equally gobsmacked by the gorgeous recreation. The exterior structure of the bathhouse is instantly recognizable to any Spirited Away fans, with its bright red walls and green roofs. Moving inside, the main bathing area where Chihiro and Lin tended to customers has been brought to life in Pokopia, along with Kamaji’s boiler room, Yubaba’s office, and even the giant baby Boh’s bedroom. According to Melanerd, the biggest struggle was having to clear out Rocky Ridges in Pokemon Pokopia, which has presently stalled their desire to continue building subterranean rooms within the bathhouse.
