Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has garnered rave reviews, including a 9/10 score from GameSpot. The Lost Crown returns the series to its side-scrolling roots in the form of a sprawling metroidvania. The new game isn’t the only Prince of Persia-related content arriving this year, though. Series creator Jordan Mechner will soon be releasing memoir. Titled Replay: Memoir of an Uprooted Family, the boo is available to preorder at Amazon ahead of its March 19 release.
Mechner has released a few other books over the years, including deep dives into the development of Prince of Persia and Karateka. What makes these books so compelling is that they’re pulled from journals Mechner kept as he was making his games, meaning they offer a remarkable firsthand experience of what it was like behind the scenes.
Both of these journals are available right now, so consider giving one a look as you wait for Mechner’s memoir to arrive in March. Of course, you should also check out the new game, which is available to purchase for $50.
