An open-world co-op survival game called Enshrouded, which has Very Positive reviews on Steam, is set to arrive on PS5 soon. In terms of gameplay, many have compared Enshrouded to games like Valheim and, to some extent, Icarus, though the latter takes a sci-fi approach to the genre.
Developed by Keen Games, Enshrouded was released in 2024 on Steam as an early-access indie game. It has since built a fairly loyal player base, with SteamDB data indicating that it regularly averages around 10,000 daily concurrent players. In terms of user reviews, Enshrouded has been rated by over 100,000 Steam players, with 85% recommending the game.
Medieval Open World Game Now on PS5, and It Will Soon Be Co-Op
A popular medieval game with a massive open-world map is finally available on PlayStation 5, and early reviews are promising.
Enshrouded Launches on PS5 in October
On June 25, 2026, after more than two years of early access, developer Keen Games confirmed that Enshrouded 1.0 will launch on October 15. The launch also marks the game’s release on Sony’s PS5 consoles, while the Xbox Series X/S version is still in development. In Enshrouded‘s Steam edition, players can join servers with up to 16 players, exploring an open-world map, crafting items, crawling through dungeons, and building bases. In fact, that last feature, base building, has been a key selling point for Enshrouded, with many considering it one of the games that offers the most freedom in base creation.

At the time of writing, it has not been confirmed whether Enshrouded‘s PS5 version will support 16-player sessions. When The Planet Crafter was announced for Sony’s current-gen console, its PS Store page listed it as an 8-player game despite its Steam edition allowing up to 10 players to join the same session. It remains to be seen whether Enshrouded‘s co-op will see the same treatment. Another detail that remains unconfirmed for now is whether Enshrouded will have cross-play at launch, allowing players on PC and PS5 to play together.
According to How Long to Beat’s data, Enshrouded offers around 70 hours of content in its early-access state. However, developer Keen Games has established a track record of releasing large updates for Enshrouded that typically add a wide range of new content. For instance, Update 8, Forging the Path, introduced a feature allowing players to share their creations with the world, alongside a major combat overhaul and other changes that were generally well received by the community. The studio has already teased that the 1.0 version will feature a range of improvements and optimizations. A short teaser trailer has also showcased several intriguing additions, including possible new biomes, new enemy types, and new armor.
PS5 users looking to grab Enshrouded at launch might be interested to know that the game costs about $30 USD on Steam, which is likely to be its price tag on the PS Store as well. There is currently no official store page for PS5 users to wishlist the game, but the store page is expected to go live soon.
