PlayStation 5 gamers have at least five high-profile new game releases to look forward to in July 2026. Sony’s PS5 has enjoyed a great deal of momentum since it originally launched in 2020. Nearly all major third-party, multiplatform game releases have made their way to the PS5 in the years since the console’s debut, and Sony has released its fair share of major first-party exclusive games as well, including Spider-Man 2, Ghost of Yotei, and Game of the Year winner Astro Bot.

With PS5 consoles more expensive than ever before, it’s especially important that Sony continues to support the console with big new game releases. The summer months are historically the slowest when it comes to new game releases, and that’s true for 2026 as well, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some noteworthy new games set to release for the PS5 in the very near future.

Retailers Issue Warning About PS5 and Xbox Console Shortages

Major retailers are preparing for significant shortages in PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles during the 2026 holiday season.

Finally, the month will cap off with something that we never thought we’d see: a Halo game releasing for PS5. For those unfamiliar with the games, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, generally considered one of the best games in Ubisoft’s stealth-action franchise. Black Flag Resynced has various improvements and upgrades it’s bringing to the table that should help make it a worthwhile return for nostalgic fans and newcomers alike. EA Sports College Football 27, meanwhile, marks the third iteration in EA’s revived college football franchise. The previous two games earned high marks from critics, and it will be interesting to see if EA Sports College Football 27 is able to keep the hot streak going.

Doom: The Dark Ages‘ Revelations DLC is releasing for PS5 on July 7.

Palworld is already available on PS5 in early access, but the 1.0 release will come alongside a massive update for the open world co-op survival game that should hopefully bring some lapsed players back into the fold. As far as Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game goes, it is a new 2D fighting game featuring characters from the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise.

And finally, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo game’s campaign, complete with three new missions. The novelty of seeing a Halo game release on PS5 is enough to make Campaign Evolved one of the most exciting new PS5 games releasing in July, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
