PSA: Don’t Forget to Claim Your New Xbox Game Pass Perk

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can now claim Fortnite Crew with their subscription, and they should make sure they do so every month. Microsoft’s recent Xbox Game Pass price hike was not a popular move, but on the bright side, it has added more benefits for subscribers to enjoy.

The Game Pass Ultimate price increase to $29.99 per month means that subscribers can enjoy more games, with 75+ day one games promised in the next year. The Game Pass Ultimate price increase also coincided with an influx of Ubisoft-published titles and other games, so while it’s been a tough pill to swallow for many, at least the increase didn’t come without extra perks.

Xbox Game Pass Changes & Fortnite Crew, Explained

Xbox Game Pass has gone through a major overhaul, adding Fortnite Crew and EA Play to Game Pass Ultimate. Here is a rundown of all the changes.

Fortnite Crew is Now a Part of Game Pass Ultimate

One such perk is now available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to claim, and for those that regularly play Fortnite, it’s something that could make the price increase effectively pay for itself. Moving forward, Fortnite Crew is an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefit. With Fortnite Crew, Fortnite players get the Battle Passes for the BR, OG, LEGO, and Music modes, as well as exclusive cosmetics and 1,000 V-Bucks every single month. Fortnite Crew retails for $11.99 per month by itself, so Game Pass Ultimate subscribers that were already also paying for Fortnite Crew actually “save” money with the price hike. Fortnite Crew content refreshes its cosmetics on the 1st of each month while V-Bucks refresh roughly every 30 days, so subscribers should make sure to make their claims on a monthly basis.

Fortnite is in the midst of its Simpsons-themed season, which has proven to be massively popular. Fortnite Chapter 7 is expected to start on November 29 or thereabouts, ushering in a brand-new era for the ultra popular game. Popular characters from past Fortnite seasons like The Seven are expected to return, and as always, there will be a big event to get the season started off.

Rocket Pass Premium is also included with Fortnite Crew, so Rocket League players also have reason to claim it.

Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy the current Fortnite season and future seasons with all the content that comes as part of Fortnite Crew. Whether the addition of Fortnite Crew to Game Pass Ultimate’s suite of benefits justifies the price increase will vary by subscribers, but there’s no denying that it does offer significant value.

Of course, the main reason to be signed up for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the games, and there are plenty to look forward to in the near future. Upcoming Xbox Game Pass Ultimate games include Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Kill It With Fire 2, both coming on November 25, and day one co-op beat ’em up Marvel Cosmic Invasion on December 1. In the meantime, horror game Routine is confirmed for Game Pass on December 4, while roguelike action game Dome Keeper is on deck for December 9.
