PUBG: Battlegrounds is getting an exciting crossover with one of the biggest releases of 2024, Stellar Blade. PUBG, which originally launched as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is a popular online multiplayer battle royale game. The gameplay revolves around up to 100 players skydiving onto an island, hunting for weapons and equipment, and fighting one another to be the last person standing, all while managing a shrinking zone that pushes everyone into tighter combat areas.

While PUBG may not get the same level of attention it once did at its peak, thanks to rival battle royale games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone pulling away much of the spotlight, it continues to be a strong and relevant title in the gaming space. PUBG has managed to ship over 75 million copies to date and has cemented its place among the top-selling PC titles of all time. In January 2022, it made a shift to free-to-play, which opened the doors to an even wider audience. Ever since, developer PUBG Studios has kept the momentum going with a continuous flow of updates. This includes the likes of map changes in PUBG, fresh content drops, and other additions. Now, the developer seems to be raising the bar even further with an official collaboration with Stellar Blade.

PUBG is Getting Its Own Extraction Shooter

PUBG and Krafton has just announced PUBG: Black Budget, an intense extraction shooter that fans can try out for themselves very soon.

PUBG x Stellar Blade Crossover is Coming Soon

Over on Twitter, PUBG has teased an upcoming crossover with Stellar Blade, dropping a fresh trailer that presents the game’s protagonist, Eve, as a new contender stepping into the battle royale to fight for survival. The developers have been hinting about her arrival for some time now. A release date for the crossover has yet to be announced, though further details are expected to surface in the coming days. It’s also unclear what the full scope of this collaboration will prove to be, but players can reasonably expect an exclusive Eve skin available through the in-game store. Additional rewards such as weapon wraps, parachutes, emotes, and other themed accessories might also be available to obtain through limited-time missions and challenges, similar to how previous PUBG crossovers have been handled.

Stellar Blade is an action-adventure game that launched back in 2024 and takes players to a post-apocalyptic near-future version of Earth. It follows the story of Eve, who is a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, and on a mission to rescue humanity from a mysterious and deadly threat called the Naytiba. The game was a massive success for developer Shift Up right out of the gate, and by June 2025, it had sold over 3 million copies worldwide. It has also previously collaborated with titles like NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. Shift Up has revealed that a Stellar Blade sequel is already in the works, and the hype around the franchise has never been higher, which is why it’s an attractive partner for collaborations across the gaming industry right now.

Fans across social media channels like Reddit and Twitter are hyped about the PUBG x Stellar Blade crossover and can’t wait to get their hands on an Eve skin in the game alongside all the other potential cosmetics. This collaboration will undoubtedly bring PUBG a boost in terms of players at a time when interest in the battle royale genre seems to be waning, with even games like Fortnite facing internal layoffs. While some in the community are still disappointed over PUBG ending support for Xbox One and PS4, fans are still looking forward to what the developers have lined up with the Stellar Blade crossover, and beyond, for the battle royale.
