Angela Sant’Albano, the actor who portrayed Resident Evil Requiem protagonist Grace Ashcroft, will reportedly take over for Jennifer English as Gwendolyn in the upcoming action game Tides of Annihilation. Developed by Eclipse Moon Games, Tides of Annihilation has no release date as of this writing.

Grace Ashcroft is one of the two playable characters in Resident Evil Requiem, alongside Leon S. Kennedy. As the daughter of investigative reporter and Resident Evil Outbreak protagonist Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace is sent by the FBI to investigate a string of deaths in Wrenwood, located near the ruins of Raccoon City. Despite being a newcomer in Capcom’s survival horror franchise, Grace quickly became a fan-favorite character among Resident Evil players. Sant’Albano was also praised by RE9 fans for her performance as Grace.

Rumor: Grace Ashcroft Voice Actor Tapped for Tides of Annihilation’s Gwendolyn

However, fans of Angela Sant’Albano and her work may soon be in luck. According to Need4Games, the new voice of Gwendolyn in the action game Tides of Annihilation sounds similar to Sant’Albano in gameplay footage that was shown during an event in Shanghai. Gwendolyn’s motion capture actor Jennifer Prime seemingly confirmed the report on Twitter after reposting some of the aforementioned Tides of Annihilation footage. The gameplay video showed some of the environments that Gwendolyn will explore, along with some character customizations that players can make. A boss battle was also shown off as part of the demonstration. In response to comments left by fans, Prime jokingly stated that there would be “No more screaming LEON!!!!” from Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation. Prime also compared the gameplay of Tides of Annihilation to the Soulslike genre and to action RPGs like Final Fantasy 16.

Though the first gameplay trailers for Tides of Annihilation featured Jennifer English as Gwendolyn, the latest round of footage revealed that Gwendolyn’s appearance was altered to resemble Sant’Albano. On July 17, Eclipse Glow Games confirmed that English stepped away from Tides of Annihilation to focus on her mental health. The Tides of Annihilation development team went on to say that English would continue supporting the game in an advisory role. As of this writing, neither Eclipse Glow Games nor Sant’Albano have officially posted about Gwendolyn’s new voice in Tides of Annihilation.

However, gamers eager to hear more news about Tides of Annihilation will not have to wait much longer.
