A new Resident Evil Requiem patch has gone live, and it’s a big one. Alongside several gameplay improvements and changes to in-game facial expressions, the Resident Evil Requiem update adds a brand-new photo mode to the game, allowing you to easily snap images of your gameplay or set up the co-protagonists for a more action-packed shot–but we all know that the Leon S. Kennedy fandom is the real target market for this update.

Capcom had previously announced that new content–including the photo mode–was on the way after it celebrated a massive sales milestone for Resident Evil Requiem. The photo mode is fairly comprehensive, allowing you to pan around a character, change their pose and facial expression, apply filters, and add stickers to your composition. To activate it from the console, all you have to do is pause your gameplay and hit Square or X on your controller to open the mode up.

Capcom also noted that character expressions in several cutscenes have “been adjusted to better convey emotion.” This is unrelated to the so-called “yassify filter” that Nvidia’s DLSS 5 was recently demonstrated using games like Requiem. The exact implementation of that feature has yet to be confirmed, and DLSS 5 itself won’t launch until later this year.

Several bugs have also been fixed, and while the patch notes don’t get into any granular detail, a number of gameplay issues have been addressed to improve the overall experience.

Capcom has confirmed that a new story expansion is in development, and it’s also working on a new minigame for Requiem. Resident Evil Requiem is the fastest-selling game in the franchise so far, reaching 6 million sales worldwide since it launched on February 27. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, and if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can read our anniversary feature on how Requiem kills its past so that the franchise can move forward.
