Rockstar Games has officially commented on the possibility that Grand Theft Auto 6 will include the developer’s take on Walt Disney World, quashing fan hopes about an in-game theme park. The world of Grand Theft Auto 6 spreads far beyond Vice City to include the entire state of Leonida.
The beloved open-world crime franchise’s long-awaited return to Vice City will give fans the opportunity to explore a variety of different locations around Leonida. A wealth of recognizable Florida settings will be included in the game beyond Vice-Dale County, allowing players to travel to new locations like the Leonida Keys and the Grassrivers. Players should also have plenty to do within the game’s diverse locations, with GTA 6‘s side activities including mini-games like hunting, scuba diving, and fishing. However, Rockstar has now confirmed that one of Florida’s most iconic settings will not be appearing in the next GTA game.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Will Not Include Disney World
A recent Game Informer interview with Rockstar Games confirmed that one iconic Florida location will be absent from GTA 6. The studio revealed that a version of Orlando did not make the cut for the final version of the game, confirming that the home of Disney World and Universal Studios will be absent. Rockstar’s Senior Vice President of Environmental Art, Paul MacPherson said the studio “constantly evaluates” what unique qualities different Florida settings in GTA 6 can bring to the game, and that Rockstar intends to deliver the “full Florida experience.” Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to officially launch on November 19.

The exclusion of a full-fledged Disney World from GTA 6 does not necessarily mean the game will not have a similar theme park-inspired locale. Past games have often included amusement parks for players to explore, such as Del Perro Pier in GTA 5 and the Coney Island-inspired Funland in GTA 4. Rockstar has also included several leisure activities players will be able to engage with throughout Leonida, including a variety of nightclubs, zoos, and even meshing social media into GTA 6‘s in-game activities.
Rockstar has also hinted at another way that the state of Leonida will immerse fans in its Florida-based setting. An early preview of the game teased the “advanced weather system” used in GTA 6, which is said to capture the different types of weather phenomena that the state experiences. Rockstar is expected to include several different types of extreme weather that can affect the state of Leonida, with Florida frequently being hit by major tropical storms and hurricanes. The game is also said to boast a significant variety of wildlife, putting the focus on the flora and fauna native to the Sunshine State.
Grand Theft Auto 6‘s imminent release is set to be one of the biggest gaming events in recent years. Rockstar has built up an unprecedented level of excitement for the game, winning “Most Anticipated Game” two years in a row at The Game Awards. The first trailers for the game broke multiple records on YouTube, with Netflix even securing the rights to premiere GTA 6‘s Extended Look trailer before it appeared on YouTube and other platforms. Rockstar Games looks to once again take the gaming world by storm when Grand Theft Auto 6 finally launches in November.
