Deadzone: Rogue Releases on Nintendo Switch 2 March 17, 2026
Developed and published by Prophecy Games, Deadzone: Rogue originally released onto Steam Early Access in April 2025. As its title teases, Deadzone: Rogue is a roguelite game that sees up to three players join forces to defeat hordes of biomechanical enemies. From a first-person perspective, players will battle their way through the hallways of a doomed spaceship, wielding an arsenal of over 30 weapons and picking from a range of unique roguelite augments and perks along the way.
Deadzone: Rogue has come a long way since its April 2025 early access launch. Over the last 11 months, Deadzone: Rogue has added an offline single-player mode, new missions, new enemies, new weapons, and new perks. A plethora of patches and other smaller updates have also been released since Deadzone‘s early access debut, improving stability and performance and tweaking gameplay systems based on player feedback. Deadzone officially left early access in August 2025, and in September 2025, Deadzone: Rogue arrived on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, bringing with it the ability for friends to play with each other across the three platforms.
On March 3, Prophecy Games announced that Deadzone: Rogue was coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on March 17, 2026. Much like its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S counterparts, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Deadzone: Rogue is expected to have full crossplay functionality, though cross-progression between the platforms likely won’t be available. This Switch 2 version will also come with Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality.
Following its announcement during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, pre-orders for Deadzone: Rogue went live on the Nintendo eShop. A digital copy of Deadzone currently costs $19.99 on the eShop, reduced from its retail price of $24.99 in a pre-release sale that’s set to end on March 30. A Deluxe Edition of Deadzone can also be pre-ordered for $35.99, reduced down from $44.99. This more expensive version of the game grants players two unique cosmetic packs that offer new weapon skins, body suits, helmet designs, and ship customization parts. Pre-ordering either version of Deadzone: Rogue on Nintendo Switch 2 will let players immediately preload the 8.5GB game to their console ahead of its March 17 release date.
Despite releasing its 1.0 version back in August 2025, Deadzone: Rogue doesn’t yet have an official aggregate score on OpenCritic or Metacritic. That said, several critic reviews can be found on Deadzone‘s OpenCritic page, most of which give the shooter at least an 8/10, with many praising the game’s addictive roguelite elements, its tight gunplay, and its dynamic co-op action. Over on Steam, Deadzone: Rogue currently has a ‘Very Positive’ rating based on 13,478 user reviews. Many of these reviews also praise Deadzone‘s gunplay, its build variety, and its meta-progression, though some reviews criticize the game’s lack of replayability due to limited mission types.
