Fans hungry for the first reveal of Persona 6 may be in luck, as a rumor suggests that the reveal could take place on June 7. Although Atlus has kept a tight lid on Persona 6 and its ongoing development, an upcoming showcase could be the company’s first opportunity to potentially give audiences a glimpse into the future of the Persona series.

Originally released as a spin-off to Atlus’ popular Megami Tensei franchise, the first Persona title was released in 1996 on the PlayStation as Revelations: Persona. Since then, the Persona franchise has grown in popularity, with more mainline and spin-off entries releasing in Persona‘s 30 years on the market. However, the previous mainline release of the Persona series was 2016’s Persona 5 on the PS3 and PS4. An enhanced re-release, Persona 5 Royal, launched in 2019. Since then, Atlus released Persona 3 Reload in 2024, and Persona 4 Revival is currently in development with no release date information as of this writing.

Rumor: Persona 6 Could Appear During the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7

Though all rumors about Persona 6 should be taken with a fine grain of salt, one insider corroborated some information that was shared with them. According to gaming industry insider eXtas1s on Twitter, the reveal of Persona 6 could happen this year, with the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 7 being a possible window for Sega to showcase the next entry of the Persona series. eXtasis pointed to Atlus and Microsoft having a multi-year partnership, and said that Atlus has used the Xbox Games Showcase in previous years as a platform for announcing some of its game projects. Persona 4 Revival was the most recent example, as it was officially revealed during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase. However, eXtas1s later clarified that they were not the original source of the Persona 6 reveal date rumors and said that they simply relayed the information based on other reports from different sources.

As for what fans can expect during the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft first-party titles like Fable and Halo: Campaign Evolved are likely to make appearances during the broadcast. Along with the main show, the Xbox Games Showcase will be immediately followed by a Gears of War: E-Day Direct broadcast hosted by The Coalition. The 2026 Xbox Games Showcase airs on Sunday, June 7, at 1:00 PM Eastern, on the official Xbox Twitch and YouTube channels. The Xbox show will air a few days after Summer Game Fest 2026, which will air on Friday, June 5, at 5:00 PM Eastern from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Twitch and YouTube. Details about both the Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest will likely be revealed closer to the listed air dates.

Persona 6 Has Other Reveal Windows to Consider

Despite the lack of concrete Persona 6 news, Persona fans still have one confirmed release to look forward to in the future, as Persona 4 Revival remains in active development. Previous rumors stated that Persona 4 Revival could launch within Atlus’ upcoming fiscal year, which begins April 1, 2026, and ends March 31, 2027. The same rumor stated that pre-orders for Persona 4 Revival could begin sometime in April 2026, though Atlus has not officially confirmed if that would be the case.

Although the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is a possible window for Atlus to show off more of the Persona series, other gaming industry events like Summer Game Fest and Tokyo Game Show are ones that fans should circle on their calendars. Additionally, the Persona franchise’s 30th anniversary date is September 30, 2026, though Atlus has so far not revealed if any events will take place on that day. Even though the rumors about Persona 6 show no signs of slowing down, time will tell when Atlus will show its hand.
