A small Xbox digital showcase is being teased by multiple sources, and will apparently take place within the next few days. Xbox fans have a lot to look forward to already, with some major games set to be released on the platform before the end of 2026. Between the company’s own internal developers and third-party partners, there’s a wide variety of games on the way to Xbox Series X/S.

The next major Xbox-published game isn’t too far away. Forza Horizon 6 is set to be released May 19 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The previous game was a massive success for Xbox, and early impressions of Forza Horizon 6 have been positive. Several years after the game’s launch, Forza Horizon 5 was released on PS5 last April. The series has quickly found an audience on Sony’s platform, and PlayStation fans won’t have to wait nearly as long for the sequel, as Forza Horizon 6 will come to PS5 later this year.

Xbox Making Big Changes to Achievements

Xbox insiders get a glimpse at major changes to achievements now, but everyone else has to wait a bit longer for the rollout.

The Next Showcase from Xbox

On a new episode of the Septic Sauce podcast, insider Jez Corden claimed that Xbox “might” have something next week. Corden was asked by Gaz if this meant Xbox would have something to show during the PlayStation State of Play rumored for April. However, Corden quickly noted that this is “their own show,” and that it will have something for gaming fans “in general.” In a post on Twitter, The Verge’s Tom Warren followed up on Corden’s comments, stating that fans should expect to see an ID@Xbox show. That means the focus will be on indie games coming to Xbox Series X/S, as well as other platforms.

Xbox has not officially confirmed the show’s existence, but with multiple sources making the claim, it’s possible an official announcement will be made soon. A show focused on smaller games would make sense, since an Xbox Games Showcase has already been confirmed for June 7. With a big event happening in less than two months, the company will probably be avoiding any major announcements until then.

While fans shouldn’t expect to hear new information about AAA games like Gears of War: E-Day or Fable, it’s possible that the next ID@Xbox could still have a lot to be excited about. Indie titles have always been part of the appeal of Game Pass, bolstering the service’s lineup beyond games offered by major publishers. ID@Xbox events tend to focus on titles that will be offered on Game Pass, often on day one. There could be some brand-new games shown for the first time ever, as well as updates on ones that have already been announced.

A new era is underway at Xbox. Asha Sharma took Phil Spencer’s place as head of Xbox earlier this year, and there have been several other changes at the company. It remains to be seen how the leadership changes will affect the company, and what will happen with the new system code named Project Helix. Sharma and Microsoft have a lot to prove, and the next few months should give fans an idea which direction things are heading.
