Sand Land is an upcoming action RPG by Bandai Namco and ILCA, based on the manga by Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball. There are plenty of things to do in Sand Land‘s expansive open world as Beelzebub and his friends head out into the desert in search of the legendary spring that will hopefully bring balance back to the world. Sand Land‘s combat, exploration, and city-building mechanics are some of its highlights, but its most notable feature is arguably its in-depth vehicle customization.

In order to effectively traverse the massive open world of Sand Land, players will need vehicles that can get them from one point to the next in a timely fashion. However, Sand Land‘s vehicles play a much larger role than simply enhancing travel, as they are one of the main tools Beelzebub and his friends will use in combat against the game’s toughest foes. To ensure their vehicles are up to the task of defeating these enemies, players can customize their many parts on the fly or in the garage in Spino City. This customization goes way beyond what one might expect, and is, in fact, one of the game’s deepest features.

Every Vehicle in Sand Land Has Unique Features

To kick things off with vehicles in Sand Land, each one comes with a unique feature. The Jump-Bot, for instance, can take Beelzebub to new heights by allowing him to bounce over high cliffs to reach areas that he wouldn’t be able to otherwise. Other vehicles, like the Hover Car, can float over water to reach land on the other side, and the Battle Armor is useful for moving heavy obstacles that might block certain paths. Vehicles like Sand Land‘s Tank can provide Beelzebub with the firepower necessary to break apart rock walls and defeat powerful enemies. This is just how Sand Land‘s vehicles work at their base level, however, as they can be upgraded and customized in a multitude of ways at the garage in Spino City.

Sand Land’s Vehicles Are Thoroughly Customizable

Arguably, the pinnacle of Sand Land‘s gameplay is in its vehicle customization. This is largely due to how extensive it is, as players can not only customize the weaponry of their vehicles, but their traversal mechanics as well. Each vehicle comes with two different weapons, with one generally being more powerful and slower than the other. These weapons can be upgraded with more enhanced and altered versions as players progress through the game.

Weapons aren’t the only thing players can customize, as each vehicle’s engine and suspension can be customized as well to benefit traversal and exploration. Option parts are another key component of vehicle customization in Sand Land, which essentially function as modifications to the vehicle that provide special passive abilities to its core features. Vehicles can also be upgraded to increase their durability, and each part of a vehicle can be upgraded multiple times to enhance its performance. Finally, players can personalize the appearance of their vehicles by visiting the paint shop in Spino City and changing their color. The color of each part of a vehicle can be changed, and decals can be applied for added accents.

Clearly, Sand Land has placed a special emphasis on vehicle customization, which means it will likely be a highly personal experience in that regard. Additionally, with vehicles being such a significant highlight of Sand Land, its open world will likely be just as extensive as its customization options, if not more so. With such thoroughly customizable vehicles, players will get to travel to Sand Land‘s dungeons and key locations in style.
