Several major Final Fantasy XIV modding communities have taken steps to remove the work of a popular not-safe-for-work mod creator after chat logs were exposed in which the modder was seen participating in graphic discussions of illegal material.

On YouTube, a user identified as Chunni Doll posted a video alleging that modder Noffletoff, along with several other Final Fantasy XIV players, was engaged in the discussion and sharing of CSAM. The video claims that the chats took place in an invite-only chat room that was part of a larger Matrix server centered on loli/shotacon content. (Sometimes described as an alternative to Discord, Matrix servers are decentralized servers that allow for real-time communication.)
The video was accompanied by a Proton document in which screenshots of the chatlogs are displayed. Kotaku has reviewed the document, and while direct references to victims’ names and explicit descriptions of CSAM content have been censored, the alleged participants can be seen making references to content they’ve watched and potentially sharing content with users on another platform called Session.
Matrix administrators were made aware of the server and it was shut down and the alleged participants banned.
Noffletoff is the creator of several paid Final Fantasy XIV body and animation mods that are widely used to create NSFW FFXIV content. As a result of these allegations, numerous FFXIV modding communities are purging his work from their platforms. Additionally, Noffletoff’s Patreon and X account have been deleted.
The Final Fantasy XIV Mod Archive (XMA), one of the largest hosting sites of FFXIV mods, has banned the account associated with Noffletoff. Kotaku has reviewed messages sent in the XMA Discord server confirming Noffletoff’s suspension, a decision announced by a moderator after a user asked what would be done in light of the allegations. “I think it’s reasonable at this point to go ahead and suspend Noff’s account (and have done so),” the post read.
Kotaku has also reviewed messages in Booty Bay, a Discord server associated with pirating FFXIV mods. The moderators of that Discord server have taken similar action, removing his mods from their repositories while banning them from future uploads and banning all discussions related to the allegations against Noffletoff.
Snowcloak, a Final Fantasy XIV mod program that allows users to view other players’ mods in game, will block the display of Noffletoff’s mods. “Users attempting to use these mods will receive a warning that the file is blocked,” read a message from a Snowcloak moderator, according to screenshots from the server reviewed by Kotaku.
According to the video, the alleged participants have been reported to authorities. Kotaku has reached out to Square Enix for comment.
