After releasing three Silent Hill games since 2024, series producer Motoi Okamoto said that Konami is already contemplating more entries in the long-running horror franchise. The news came a few weeks after the latest entry in the Silent Hill series, Silent Hill: Townfall, was released on PC and PS5 across the globe.
Although the series has been on a roll that started with the 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2, Konami initially left fans without a new release for 12 years. The 2012 title Silent Hill: Downpour was one of the last games released before Konami’s horror franchise went dormant. In October 2022, a Silent Hill Transmission broadcast officially revealed Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall, with different studios at the helm of each project. As of this writing, each game announced during the 2022 Transmission episode has hit store shelves.
Konami Will Release More Silent Hill Games After Townfall
With Silent Hill: Townfall gaining favorable reviews from critics and players alike, Konami confirmed that it was not done with the franchise just yet. In an interview from Famitsu’s Issue 1965 that was translated by GameObserver, Okamoto said that Konami is already considering a second and third batch of Silent Hill games following the success that the franchise has enjoyed since 2024. Okamoto said that the developers were “relieved” and “satisfied” with the reception that the series has received. Although he could not fully divulge Konami’s plans for the Silent Hill series, Okamoto said that the first batch of new titles is not the end of the line for the franchise at all. Given that Okamoto and Konami still have to consider which projects to green-light, it may be some time before fans hear any more information.

Okamoto said that he could not let the Silent Hill series end with just one remake, though he admitted that trying to convince Konami’s top brass to release three new games was not an easy task. Okamoto also stated that Konami would continue its current approach to the franchise by collaborating with various studios, though he did not share which developers would be involved in the next batch of games. Given that the Silent Hill franchise has released several games since its debut on the original PlayStation in 1999, it remains to be seen what plans Konami and its partners have for the horror series.
Aside from game releases, Konami’s horror franchise will soon see a return to the silver screen. The Wall Street Journal reported that the producer of 2026’s Resident Evil, Roy Lee, is said to be working on a Silent Hill project. However, it is not clear if it will be a feature film or a TV series. Given that Lee is also the producer of Amazon’s God of War TV series, it is not known when the Silent Hill project will see the light of day.
As for Konami’s immediate plans, the studio is preparing to launch Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, a 2D action title made in collaboration with the developers of Dead Cells. A free demo of Belmont’s Curse is now available for players to try out ahead of the game’s October 14 release.
