Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch 5 is now available for download on PC, with other platforms being set to follow soon. While this release is partly focused on ironing out localization issues, it also introduces a variety of Hollow Knight: Silksong bug fixes.
Team Cherry’s critically acclaimed metroidvania has technically received over 20 patches since its release, but only because every large-scale update went through multiple beta builds ahead of a wider rollout. The most recent major release materialized in the form of Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch 4, which was officially launched in November 2025. Come February 2026, Team Cherry began testing its fifth major update, which has since then received three beta builds, designated as versions 1.0.29811, 1.0.29884, and 1.0.29909.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Player is Trying to Beat Every Boss in the Most Ridiculous Way Possible
Beating all the bosses in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a daunting challenge, but one player is making the task even more difficult.
Silksong Patch 5 Introduces Over 20 Changes
The month-long period of beta testing is now officially over, with Patch 5 hitting the stable channel on March 16. Identified by version number 1.0.29926, the update is currently only available for the PC version of Hollow Knight: Silksong via Steam and GOG. The changelog accompanying the mid-March patch numbers 21 items in total, with a brand-new Traditional Chinese localization listed at the very top.

Team Cherry’s decision to list localization changes as the highlight of the new update was likely not incidental; shortly following its September 2025 release, Hollow Knight: Silksong was review bombed over what many players described as a poor Simplified Chinese localization, which had been outsourced to a third party. Team Cherry updated the Simplified Chinese version in late October 2025, with the newly debuted Patch 5 now expanding on the game’s language options with the addition of Traditional Chinese. The March 2026 update also refines the game’s German localization with the goal of delivering more consistency with the English version and improving clarity in some places.
In terms of gameplay novelties, the single biggest change introduced in the 1.0.29926 build concerns Hollow Knight: Silksong‘s Silk Soar. Specifically, the double jump ability can now be used without limitation during scene transitions, as long as Hornet has enough Silk to activate it. The feature has been in testing since February and effectively allows players to traverse the entire map from bottom to top in about 30 seconds when positioned correctly.
The March 2026 update also introduces 16 bug fixes, targeting issues such as enemies and Hornet getting stuck out of bounds in some edge cases. The Last Judge has also been tweaked so that its death explosion deals three points of damage instead of two. While the change is technically a nerf, Team Cherry officially framed it as a fix because the boss was never intended to inflict three masks’ worth of damage upon death. The update also revised the Magma Bell, with the Blue Tool’s protective aura now working against all fire explosions in the game.
Underworks Choruses will play their full Needolin text as of version 1.0.29926, which also fixes an interaction between the Shell Satchel and tool quantity instances where unequipping the former would sometimes cause the latter not to update correctly. Another notable change affects Hollow Knight: Silksong‘s infamous Savage Beastfly fight, which is now guaranteed to end as soon as the boss is defeated. In the previous versions of the game, all the minions spawned by the erratic boss would stick around even after Savage Beastfly was defeated, further complicating an already challenging fight. Based on Team Cherry’s past release pattern, Patch 5 could reach console versions of Hollow Knight: Silksong by the end of March 2026. In earlier staggered rollouts, console updates arrived within five days of the PC release.
