To the surprise of many this week, Star Fox makes his cinematic debut in Super Mario Galaxy, which had us thinking about the long lasting legacy of Nintendo’s vulpine space ace. For such a well-loved character, it seems as though his games have always fallen short. Not since Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 64 has this Smash Bros original been able to break through in a memorable way. What happened, and why can’t Star Fox win?
